the official friday drama thread

but i do have a question
i have seen posts both on here and LIW that the "other" site is "cliquey" and the poster usually states that they prefer one site over the other.
i wonder if that's a product of people spending more time on either LIF or LIW, or if it's an "age" thing - meaning those who were with LIF from the beginning feel more loyal to it than those who are "new."
any thoughts?

i'm sorry but there are def. cliques here but it seems as though people have developed friendships and that;s just the way it is. For the most part everyone is very nice and helpful. i enjoy this site and find everyone's input and advice to be valuable.

I know from time to time people complain about cliques on here - can't say much about LIW since I haven't been on there for years.
But, yeah, I think part of the issue is that a bunch of us all migrated to LIF when it first started, together, so of course we know a little more about each other and have been interacting together longer. It's not an intentional "clique" so to speak, but if I see a certain poster posting, that has been here with me since LIF started, we shared our pregnancy together and first year together as new mom's, well, yeah, there's a certain undeniable, "online" kinship, so I pay more attention to their post as opposed to others.
God, that was wordy.
Oh yeah, and, I'm pretty, so that makes me popular

There are definitely cliques here, but that's just the way life is. You'll find cliques everywhere and that's okay.
People just relate to other people more. I could make a comment on a thread and someone will make a comment that's very close to mine, and that person's "friend" will quote theirs, not mine...but its just the way it is. You have a tendency to read someone's post who you agree with or are friendly with.
I think this site is always helpful and just about always friendly. I'm glad its here, cliques or no cliques.

I don't know how much a fan I am of the word "clique".
I have friends on here. meaning, there are people on here that I know outside of this board. and at times that comes through in our posts.
however, I have disagreed with these same friends during debates and discussions, as they have with me...so I don't think we fall into that "clique" mentality...or at least clique as how I think of it.
however, I have been told I have a "clique" or a "crew"...which I don't necessarily agree with....

There were "cliques" or groups of friends there, there are "cliques" here too. Such is life. It's always hard breaking into a new social circle, whether IRL or on the internet. When I started on LIW, I found that there were already groups who knew each other and were close, and more formed as I was on the site longer. As a bunch of us moved here when the site first started, it is natural that we all know each other better. Even so, there are certain people who have closer friends here than others who have been here the same amount of time. It's just the way things work. If i went back to LIW now, I'm sure I find the same dynamics as when I used to post there, just with different people
Basically, what I'm not so eloquently trying to say is: SSDS (same sh*t, different site)

I think people are just used to a certain amount of attention and when they don't get it, it may come off as other people being 'cliquey'
I know I was guilty of thinking that way..

There are defiantly cliques on this site, but doesnt bother me. I didnt care about those things in HS, so doesnt bother me now. If someone doesnt want to post to me, then OH WELL.. i know im a nice person and genuine to others and thats all that matters to me.

i was kidding about the HS mentality of what is popular. pretty ='d popular back then. Although, i knew some people who were considered popular, but they were pretty unattractive... i guess they just hung out with the right people
