what is this pretty = popular thing?

i was kidding about the HS mentality of what is popular. pretty ='d popular back then. Although, i knew some people who were considered popular, but they were pretty unattractive... i guess they just hung out with the right people Chat Icon

either that...or they had the money to buy the right clothes.

Guess jeans got you far in my high school...not matter what your grill looked like Chat Icon

or they had great personalities...
and I don't mean that in a snarky way... I remember a few people in HS that on the outside you couldn't understand why everyone was so attracted to them... but if you got to know them, you GOT it.

I think I learned pretty young how to appreciate someone's 'innards' because of this.

If you don't know, then you must not be.

Chat Icon

clearly I am not either of those things.

I will form my own ugly unpopular clique.

FUGLIES UNITE!

I will be your 1st cronie

I will be your 2nd.

And I officially declare that it does not conflict with my membership in the pretty-popular club, as I'm "sexy - ugly" so I clearly qualify for both Chat Icon

I agree with the SSDS theory. There are cliques on both sites. I always laugh when I see someone on either site post "they're so cliquey over there".

I have pretty innards.

My ob/gyn told me so as he was pushing them aside to pull Alex out of me.

Does that make me part of the "pretty innards" club? Chat Icon

I don't know how much a fan I am of the word "clique".

I have friends on here. meaning, there are people on here that I know outside of this board. and at times that comes through in our posts.

however, I have disagreed with these same friends during debates and discussions, as they have with me...so I don't think we fall into that "clique" mentality...or at least clique as how I think of it.

however, I have been told I have a "clique" or a "crew"...which I don't necessarily agree with....Chat Icon

Ohhh there is definitely a clique-doesn't necessarily mean that everyone agrees with everyone else. BUT there have been posts where something will be said to Person A by Person X. Person A has a clique and all those people rush out to say the same thing Person A. That, IMO, is a clique. Also the private jokes and innuendo put in public posts that no one else "gets" constitutes cliquish(is that a word?) behavior.

Not speaking of you but there are MANY cliques on here.

yeah, I see that. the private jokes and such.

it's not so much the private jokes that get me...but the stuff that lets the world know they talk smack about other people via fm.

I think that is pretty disgusting and mean spirited. and very boring.

Oh yes definitely. I don't concern myself too much with cliques and whether I am part of them or not on the internet.

I enjoy passing my time here because I work alone and get bored sometimes. I have met lots of people on here that have become friends and anyone that doesn't want to inlcude me in their "clique"...thats OK-Their lossChat Icon
