There are cliques on both sites.
There are cliques within the sites based on interests and where people post most often.
There are cliques within specific boards for specific reasons.
It is what it is. That doesn't mean that people are trying to leave other people out. Either you have something in common with someone or you don't. Personally, I will associate with people whose personalities I find attractive. If someone feels left out, that is their issue.
We all use the boards to make our worlds a little bit smaller in one way or another.

Do I like all of them? Hell no.
Do I have certain groups I get along with better? Absolutely.
It's human nature to bond with people who are most like you. They even have a saying: birds of a feather post together. (Or something like that.)

I did not come here as soon as this site opened. I got my screen name but I did not start posting right away. When I started to post, I felt comfortable fairly quickly, maybe because some people knew me from LIW. I do sometimes wonder if it is as easy here for a new person as it was when I came in. I prefer to watch and wait until a person has several posts before I get into full blown discussions with them. I make a point to read some threads of people I don't know.

i'm sorry but there are def. cliques here but it seems as though people have developed friendships and that;s just the way it is. For the most part everyone is very nice and helpful. i enjoy this site and find everyone's input and advice to be valuable.
i agree... and i think it just takes time to get acclimated. i know a lot of the newer LIW'ers don't feel at home yet...

there's definitely clique's. from what i've heard, there's quite a few on LIW and that it can get pretty catty at times! girls talking smack about other girls and hating on them because they arent welcomed as part of the clique. sending nasty fm's because they dont feel "loved".
seems very childish IMO. i mean, come on. its an internet chat board people!

I have to say I laugh at the gilrls on LIW who are boycotting this site b/c the girls are so "mean." Well, by positng on one you are supporting the other.
Yes, there are cliques here and everywhere else in life. Not much you can do, just find the group that works for you.

But, yeah, I think part of the issue is that a bunch of us all migrated to LIF when it first started, together, so of course we know a little more about each other and have been interacting together longer. It's not an intentional "clique" so to speak, but if I see a certain poster posting, that has been here with me since LIF started, we shared our pregnancy together and first year together as new mom's, well, yeah, there's a certain undeniable, "online" kinship, so I pay more attention to their post as opposed to others.
God, that was wordy.
Oh yeah, and, I'm pretty, so that makes me popular   
I'm not really into cliques or anything, but Beth is my favoritist...

My personal favorites are the a-holes that make the jump, don't get the same amount of attention they got over *there* then go running back crying how everyone is "mean" on LIF.
To the lurkers and n00bs~ CONTRIBUTE to the site rather than come on and post once or twice and get discouraged when you don't get 100 replies (or don't hear exactly what you want to hear).... you'll see how quickly you make *friends*.
And STOP running back to LIW and talking smack- we CAN read what you post you know.

Actually when LIF first started there was a whole thing about who was going to LIF and who was staying on LIW and who was glad about who was not going to be on LIW and vice versa.
It's a little cliquey here, and I think people def. gang up, but it's not as bad as it used to be. I think some of the worse perpetrators were banned.

Well just when you think there are cliques, you post something that other people shockingly agree with you on - people who never agreed with you about anything.
I will never forget all the wonderful replies I got when I finally got my BFP -- and tons of people who came out of the woodwork too.
And when my dog died, I got tons of support from people I've never met - so if those are cliques, I'm all for them!
