the way people are driving lately...
This is not to blame anyone for any recent accidents..
but just to say in general..
is it me, or have people been driving like lunatics lately ????  
Everywhere I go, whether it's local, whether it's to NJ, Queens, whatever, I see people driving like they are in a race to get somewhere, have NO regard for others on the road or for the law

Yes. I agree. It also seems like Fridays and the weekends are the worse, especially before long holiday weekends. I've become nuerotic and try to avoid being on the road on the weekends after 10 pm

I think we all lead such busy lives, it is terrible that it causes us to act this way. We rush from place to place only thinking of ourselves.
Although I tend to rush myself, I always abide by the laws. That part is just not worth it!

ITA... DH and I were doing some running around yesterday and we were saying the same thing. I wish everyone would just slow their lives down and RELAX! If everyone obeyed the rules of the road there would be less accidents. I have lost too many people in my life to car crashes.

yes...I have noticed the same thing. I drive on the LIE everyday in the HOV lane and cars are up my butt even when I am going 60. Isnt the speed limit 55??? I dont know why people are in a rush..its just not worth it!

I know what you mean, I will be driving above the speed limit & I hate when people tailgate me and seriously give me like 3 inches of space between our cars ... I just go slower

Not only that but I see so many people blow red lights! I cross the LIE service road on my way to the bus in the morning and I can't tell you how many times I have waited a few seconds longer after the light turned red bc I'm scared of some cars blowing the red light...and sure enough, a few always zoom past me...scary.

Actually, I am finding the opposite to be true. There's still jerks on the road and always will be but it seems like everyone has slowed down lately. I presume it's due to getting better milage if you slow down.

I don't know who is worse! Between the people that don't obey the rules of the road and the ones who think they are the only ones on the rode. People think they are the only ones there they stop when they want to, u-turn where every they feel like it or my favorite stop on old country road the let people in or out of their car.

I just said this to my husband the other day.
people want me to beat the ever loving MESS out of them...how careless, how inconsiderate of others!!!!!!
I told him, if I get hit by one of these assholes and can get myself out of the car, I will go balls deep in their ASSSS!!!

people make right turns from the left lane across 4 lanes of traffic. No signals and drive with their dogs and kids on their laps.

Yes, the DID slow down. BUT only for a short time. I also noticed that lately they back to speeding and tailgating, switching lanes, not stopping at red lights. It's even worst than before. Like they are even more frustrated about life and they take it on the road.

Slowing down? Someone tell the jerks that drive 60mph down my block that it's cool to drive slow They didn't get the memo.

and yesterday i felt like everyone was driving in slow motion, this was on the streets not highway but i've noticed it there too,
yesterday every single time i drove i was behind someone driving super slow, not regular slow it is very annying and i think sometimes that makes the people behind them start to drive crazy

I see this everyday. I love when I see these jerks with a newspaper sprawled out over the stearling wheel! I guess driving doesn't require someone's full attention.

I see half fast and half slow because we live in the great tourist destination Central FL. I don't rush anywhere nor does DH but we just ignore then ones on our butts when we are going 80 down the interstate. The speed limit is 70 how faster do you want us to go. They are usually out of state.
Then you have the ones who cut you off to go in the left lane going 55 that's where I get mad. i was going a nice speed then you have to go in my lane. These are locals.
But alot of people are driving slower I noticed in the last month or so. But I also see my share of crazies.

Yes, its awful. DH and I were driving down a street in our neighborhood, and someone felt the need to pass us.. in a RESIDENTIAL area.
It happened another time when we were driving on nicholls rd, in the left lane, someone passed us on the left.
What is the rush? I remember someone once told me, its better to get somewhere late than to never get there at all.

Yes and it drives me crazy! I find it to be particularly bad in my neighborhood in Queens. I think there are a lot of selfish drivers who think that they are more important than everyone else. Where do you have to go that is so important that you must drive 60 mph down busy side streets and barely yield at a stop sign?

Plus they do it when there is traffic it's like Dude where do you think I could go?
Plus then they speed around you at the next opening and they get NOWHERE I'm always like what a tool!
I love when people do that or cut in and then get nailed by a cop

I just had an incident when I went out to run an errand at lunch.
I was at a red light waiting to make a left. I then had a green turn light, and as I'm making the left, this woman on the other side of the road makes a right and almost hits me. I honked my horn because clearly she was not paying attention. So now she is in front of me and we are both at a red light, she proceeds to get out of her car, stand in front of mind waving her arms in the air and calling me a Crazy Beyotch!  Yeah lady, I'm the crazy one!  I clearly had the right of way because I had the green light. Amazingly I kept my cool (I get heated VERY quickly), and just shook my head at her and laughed.

I honestly don't mind or care about people who drive fast...I can see them coming and get out of the way if necessary.
It's the people who run lights and stop signs that truly scare me. I can't tell you how many times I see someone just blow through a completely red light.
