Is that where they get the dresses they display in the window to show that they clean wedding dresses? You should drive by, your dress could be famous!

Re: The wedding dress thread got me thinking..
I ripped mine up already. My mom made christening gowns out of it for my boys. I loved the idea...not those gowns can be used for generations to come.

I donated my dress to the Bridal Garden. They sell the gowns and the proceeds go to Sheltering arms which was an organization that helped lower income children with their needs.
It seems Sheltering Arms closed but they now direct their fundraising efforts to the Brooklyn Charter School.
I did this too, It was a hard decision to make to actually part with my dress but since it was just going to sit in my parents house for eternity, this felt like the right thing to do, knowing that I helped out a good cause.

Re: The wedding dress thread got me thinking..
Mine is still hanging in my closet nearly 2 years later. I keep meaning to have it cleaned & preserved. I don't think I could ever sell it.

Keeping it. It's preserved. Maybe my daughter will want it, no big deal if not. I thought about making it a christening gown but then I couldn't stand the thought of cutting it.

Re: The wedding dress thread got me thinking..
I seem to be a collector.
I have 1 from my 1st marriage...
1 I bought for my 2nd marriage off ebay but changed my mind
And the 1 that I did wear for this marrige.
Not sure what I'm doing with them...I should just donate them already.
