I don't know what the hell is going on with this girl lately....I will be talking with guidance and adminsitration tomorrow!
she apparently has some attention issues
and gets of getting it in negative ways...
OH yeah big time! And the smirk she had on her face when I was speaking to her.....made me even angrier......hope she changes her tunr tomorrow
Too bad you can't make her work in a group home or with the population with those issues to show her there is nothing funny about it.
wow....well that really wouldn't do anything but give the chick more to do when she put on these performances
jeeeeeeez...
you have to change the root of the problem...ot stop the behavior

I agree. She would just find another way to act out for attention. The key is finding out what is causing the need for attention and working on those issues, in counseling or therapy. In addition, her counselor can help her work on ways to get attention in a positive way.

IMO...you need to talk to the school psychologist
i would bet this goes much deeper than you could even begin to deal with...

I cannot even imagine having one
I don't have them anymore but had them while raising my daughter. She had to be taught to take care of Mommy when she has a seizure and ask for help & to NEVER touch Mommy's medicine. I had brain surgery for epilepsy when she was 15 and I had a mini stroke during the surgery which she then took care of me afterwards. I am fine since then with alot of rehab. In April it will be 6 years since my last seizures.

Re: This girl faked a seizure today in my class.....
I would definately speak with the school psychologist about it tomorrow or at least the guidance councelor. Kids do some crazy things. I got hit today and spit on. Luckily my principals are actually acting on it this time and the kid is getting a regional suspension, out of my room for 5 days at another school.
I hope tomorrow goes better for you. You never know what is going to happy each day when you step into your classroom in the morning.

I thought I left all DRAMA behind on LIW!!!!
As a teacher, some serious help is needed for that child. As someone mentioned before- faking a tummyache or cold to get out of work/tests is one thing but seizures show a level of creativity I've never heard of. Bring it to the school psychologist.
