I didn't find it funny (not bad but it was boring) but I don't care if others do. I also don't see what the difference is between a video like this and some that you see on Americas funniest home videos. That show is full of people falling and getting injured. Obviously they get permission to show the home videos.

So odd, I hadn't read your response and just posted something similar about AFHVs

Sorry...call me immature, but I laughed watching this. A lot. It's funny.

That being said, I wouldn't have done what he did. I probably would have called the school to let them know how icy it was there.

I am with you on this.

Oh come on I wasnt seriously hoping someone would get hurt.

Imagine the irony if his own kid would have been injured because he lacked the maturity to fix the situation. Nobody would be laughing then.

This father has the mental maturity of a fifth grader, at best. He is modeling terrible behavior for his child. Don't help others, mock them. Real nice.

Exactly this. This man is a terrible model for his child. Don't help others, make fun of them, film it and then post it online for others to laugh at as well. And we wonder why children of today behave badly- it's because of parents like this! I honestly don't see how this is funny at all. Parents are supposed to help children, not mock them.

So children behave poorly because they have parents with a sense of humor?

I don't consider filming children falling and posting it online to be considered "a sense of humor". And I do think that his kids probably laugh at other people when they fall. I thought it was kind of standard to teach kids to say "are you ok?" if they see someone fall.

We can agree to disagree. My panties aren't in a bunch over this, I just don't agree with the video.

I thought it was hilarious but I'm going to hell anyway. However, I'm shocked that parents of these kids aren't suing this guy for posting their kids on the internet without their consent. I predict that'll happen.

Re: This is kind of amazing and hysterical!

Why can't it just be that some people find certain things funny, while other people don't.
Just because you find the video funny doesn't make you a bad parent.
Just because you don't find the video funny doesn't mean you have no sense of humor.
It simply means that different people think different things are funny. Why does it always have to turn into people knocking other people and everyone getting defensive?
That kind of behavior might be seen as more immature than someone who laughs when other people fall.....

I must add I loved the kids trying to cover the area with snow to try to help the slippery factor. That touched me and I was happy to see that caught on tape.

Re: This is kind of amazing and hysterical!

I feel the problem with video is this man knew people were going to fall unlike AFHV, most of those videos just randomly happen and those incidents happen to be caught on tape.
I initially thought this was funny but then it stopped becoming funny to me as I watched it.

Do I laugh when I or someone falls- yes I do but to me this was different. When I have fallen or have witnessed a friend falling, it was spontaneous and couldn't have been prevented. Why wouldn't he stop someone from potentially getting hurt? I could see the first fall to be funny but then my heart and care for others would have taken over and I would have tried to help the situation. People do get badly injured from falls on ice and as a parent, I wouldn't want another parent to get a call that their kid just broke their arm from falling on ice.

I think he is lacking in judgement big time. I guess him having a good time out weighs a possible injury. I am sure some of those that fell didn't walk away 100% fine.

How does everyone know that no one was hurt? Just because they walked away?

Honestly, totally going to be honest here....I don't care, really. IN THE CONTEXT OF WHAT IS SHOWN....we can do hypotheticals ALL DAY LONG, everyone is FINE.

I don't know who these people are, I can't change the fact that they fell down, I can't change what happened, I cant make the guy not film, after today, I will probably never even think if any of them again, ever. People fell down and got up laughing, one after the other. It still made me laugh. If Im going to hell for that, so be it. Im not taking my life that seriously.

No one was shot, or maimed or killed any puppies. Some people fell down, thats all. If you don't think people falling is funny, TOTALLY your prerogative. It made me laugh, it did. Im not going to get all worked up about it bc this has ZERO impact on my life.

And FWIW, sometimes I laugh at my kids when the fall. Sometimes my husband, or friends or sister laugh at me when Im fall. When I slipped and landed on my ass at work the other day, people laughed and I laughed with them.

Im a horrible, horrible, horrible person. Good lord.

Right but what if they were diabetics?

then I would get them a banana, but only if I had already paid for it...

Does that mean things that are embarrassing aren't funny?

This is embarrassing for this man but extremely funny, imo.

How can I have a driver's license if I am a naked man??

This has to be fake. Why wouldn't he have just asked those 2 guys to get management for him so he didn't have to walk thru the hotel naked? Would have been much less embarrassing!

OMG.I say this too. I stopped watching AFV b/c I felt it was a bad thing for my 5 yo to see and find half of these awful things funny. They recently showed a dog jumping on fireworks and I said, WHY are they showing this? How is this funny? It's sOOOOO dangerous!!!

I'm sorry, but any man standing next to his crotch height kid playing t-ball or wiffle ball knows he's getting it in the nuts. And if he doesn't and no one sees that coming, then the country is going down the drain all together. With or without us cackling like lunatics.

And this right here is part of the problem with this thread, the name calling.

I guess I lack compassion, because, quite frannkly if my son came home whining about someone laughing at him because he fell and didnt get hurt then I would tell him to get over it. There is so much other sh!t that he can be worried about and he will need a tougher skin. I wont allow him to feel sorry for himself because he got a little emabarassed.

This is the problem with some kids, the coddling and woe is me BS.

Not wanting my child filmed/ posted isn't "coddling" Not being thrilled with another parent laughing at my child isn't "coddling"

If someone laughed, who cares??!! To each her own. I didn't find it funny in the least, but that's because I have been injured on the ice/ know people who have been injured on the ice. That makes me more sensitive to the whole thing. However, I don't care if others find it amusing. People have different perceptions and senses of humor. This isn't offensive in a clear cut way. It isn't as though puppies are being shot. It is a gray area and people will react differently. A major problem with society is reflected on LIF. People are unable to disagree while still taking the other persons' point of view into account.

I definitely don't care if anyone laughed at this, but why all the butt-hurt when some people say that they DIDN'T find it funny?

. I don't think people should be called for either opinion. Just An agree to disagree and move on. Quite frankly, we'd be a better society if we could respond that way more frequently.

ok not name calling, but attacking a person's character by saying that they lack compassion. Whatever category you want to put it in.

I dont know if it was you or another poster but there were also snide remarks like: the kids are going to grow up not caring about people etc.

Idc, if you would make a big stink about this and be upset if this happened to your child then you have every right too. To me it doesnt make you wrong, it just make you different than me.

However, if my son fell and came crying that someone laughed at him, especially at that age I would tell him to get a grip. I would also probably laugh at him if he fell. That doesnt mean I or any other person lacks compassion. Or that I am wrong.

If you want to laugh at YOUR child that is YOUR business. It is not something I would do, but hey don't coddle your kid by any means.

Laughing at other people's kids is NOT OK.

Even if you are OK with someone laughing at your child, someone TAPING them and POSTING it is, to me, a different and much more sinister issue.

That thread is 10 pounds of ******** in a 5 pound bag.

I was LOLing really hard - I think some people here need to look up the definition of "laid back."

I'm genuinely curious - those of you that think the video is funny - if this were you, at your child's school, sitting in the car in front of an ice patch and you were witness to this situation - would you do what this dad did? Would you sit there and video and keep laughing as he did? And then share the video? What would you do?

I found the video funny. To answer your question, no, I would not do any of that. I most likely would have alerted the school to the problem and warned the kids coming by.

However, this whole situation, IMO, can be summed up to something we all learned in kindergarten and that is, simply stated, boys are stupid. (Sorry guysChat Icon ) I can not imagine that a woman would ever sit there by herself and take a video giggling like a hyena. But it does not surprise me in the least that a guy did.
