So....what have we learned today? My sense of humor isn't the same as someone else's sense of humor and that someone else has a different sense of humor than even someone entirely different.

Im pretty sure my sense of humor is worse than yours because my son bust his @ss the other day and I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes.
If this father is a loser, I can imagine I am the devil.

If I found out some creepy dad FILMED my child falling, LAUGHED at him and posted it online I would be pizzed.
To anyone "laughing" ask yourself if you like some creep filming your kids for his own amusement.
We live in a sick world and don't need stuff like this
ETA I wonder what the school would think of someone filming kids......

I thought it was pretty funny. It's not like he is at a senior center filming the elderly fall these are pretty able bodied teenagers who all seemed to shrug it off.
You know what? Even if you tried to warn them most middle schoolers wouldn't even listen anyway.

Yeah, me too. Id totally laugh. Like I said, I laugh at them bc sometimes shit is funny.
Like last week, my one small DC went to exit the kitchen, completely missed the doorway when they turned around and bounced off the kitchen wall, I almost peed my pants. When I was younger, my sister was a leaving a store in the mall with a VERY clean glass front and BAM, right into. I could've died of laughter then. In hugh school, I was walking down the street with a friend. She was checking her beeper (yeah, that long ago) and walked right into a street sign. Hell, she even cut her nose and was bleeding and we a had to sit down bc we were laughing so hard.

I wonder how many parents would honestly be OK with some creep filming their child and posting it.
Put the laughing aside, the school and possibly police COULD, and I believe should get involved.
My dad would have been livid if someone had filmed me and I can't help but think most people would be as well.

In the context of THIS video and if it was my child, I would laugh my ass off and not think nothing more of it. Im not saying I wouldnt care just to prove a point, I really would NOT be livid.
I seriously would think it was funny and probably speak with this dad who has a sense of humor.

I've read threads on LIF where people ban family members from sharing their kid's pic on FB...but suddenly filming strangers kids and sharing for the world to see is ok bc it's funny?

I never banned anyone in my family for doing this, so I guess it makes sense I wouldnt care in this scenario.
And I had my DS Biological mom steal pics off my FB profile and post them with captions "My baby".

Ditto lol and I teach my kids to laugh at themselves dust themselves off and keep going ....Jesus I think its very important not to take oneself so freakin seriously and thats instilled in my house very often ...now as far as the guy filming it and posting it I would probably be upset only bc that's someone's privacy that is being violated him laughing at it on the other hand not a big deal to me its more so that he posted it that is more of the issue to me

1) you couldn't even see any of the kids faces...they were all bundled up
2) it's not like he was there to creep kids. he was picking up his own kid and saw a bunch of kids falling in the same spot, thought it was funny so he filmed it. That makes him CREEPY? I think it makes him someone with a sense of humor. you've made him sound like a freaking pedophile, that's really just over the top.
3) what are you going to do? follow your kid around their whole life to make sure they never fall? go after everyone who ever laughs at their mishaps? it's going to happen...and when it happens in public people WILL laugh...it's life. People would be doing more of a service for their kids if they taught their kids to laugh along instead of getting all twisted and upset over it.
4) my son is 2.5 years old and even he knows how to laugh at himself sometimes when he falls.
5) I'm sure if someone had been seriously hurt he would have helped them but seeing as it didn't happen, who cares if he has a giggle. I totally hear the benny hill theme music in my head watching that video. It's funny.

I didn't think it was funny, but I am more the type to say are you OK when someone falls, then to laugh. I also would have been pissed if this was my husband. There's a social norm that comes with being a parent and an unspoken rule that you look out for others kids. Maybe I'm just crazy...

Yes! All of this!
Plus, how could the school or police possibly get involved? You have no expectation of privacy when you are out in public. That means, whether I approve or not, anyone can videotape me or my children when I'm out in public. Especially now, with smartphones, you don't even know if someone is videotaping you.
It's not like this was illicit or child porn. He was having a chuckle about kids falling, whose faces are unidentifiable while waiting for his DD. He was not randomly videoing kids. I don't think that's creepy at all.

For me, they weren't 4. Would I personally sit and film them, no. But my job as a mother is not for me to swoop in a save a bunch of teenagers from slipping on ice. They are teenagers for godsake, they should be able to walk on ice and fall down without adults intervening. I wouldn't have filmed them, but I don't know that I would've really done much. Its winter, there is snow and ice EVERYWHERE, I have no plans to go around and guard icy patches to protect other children from falling down.

This was kind of my thought too... they weren't toddlers or anything & all of them were cracking up over it. I'm more bothered by the fact that he's secretly recording other people's kids -- that's jusy weird no matter what is going on

Honestly, totally going to be honest here....I don't care, really. IN THE CONTEXT OF WHAT IS SHOWN....we can do hypotheticals ALL DAY LONG, everyone is FINE.
I don't know who these people are, I can't change the fact that they fell down, I can't change what happened, I cant make the guy not film, after today, I will probably never even think if any of them again, ever. No one was shot, or maimed or killed any puppies. Some people fell down, thats all. If you don't think people falling is funny, TOTALLY your prerogative. It made me laugh, it did. Im not going to get all worked up about it bc this has ZERO impact on my life.
And FWIW, sometimes I laugh at my kids when the fall. Sometimes my husband, or friends or sister laugh at me when Im fall. When I slipped and landed on my ass at work the other day, people laughed and I laughed with them.
Im a horrible, horrible, horrible person. Good lord.
Right but what if they were diabetics?
