DH is still smoking He is NOT allowed near the newborn after smoking- he must change his clothes. Plus he cannot come near me pregnant. I thought all the restrictions would make him quit but no.

My Dh also before i became pg i also was a smoker found out and quite that day never looked back although my dh still had not quite the bad habit i also put rules but did not work the more i didnt express my disgust he began to eventually stop and only now smokes outside or bathroom sooo words of advice just dont be a nag and see what happens mine actually got the point after i stopped nagging.... Hope this helps

Sigh....basically I'm wondering how sensitive your DH's were / are to you during your pregnancy...I feel like mine "cheats" a lot..he will smoke at the back door with it open a crack but not step outside..and then the smoke blows back into the house. Yesterday he lit a cig. in my car while I ran into Dunkin Donuts and I asked him to get out of the car (I mean come on it was 50 degrees out!) He said " I dont need to, I will keep both windows rolled down"...I just feel like he doesn't get it and doesn't care  The only room he smokes in in our house is the upstairs bathroom with the door closed and windows open but even when he is done it still stinks...I grew up in a household of smokers and basically felt trapped...I don't want our child to feel the same way. He knows that when the baby is here he is absolutely forbidden to smoke around him / her...but with my pregnancy I feel like he is so nonchalant about it...I could be standing 5 feet away from him in the kitchen and he lights up...it just really hurts And you would think after all of our years of TTC and doing 2 rounds of IVF he would feel differently.

Maybe printing out some information for him about the dangers of smoking around a pregnant person. DH NEVER smokes around me and only outside. He doesn't even smoke in the car since I and our DD go in there.
I think he needs to see how dangerous it can be.

You shouldn't feel as though he doesnt care although i do agree with printing out the dangers of smoking near or around a pg person... Have you talked about this and your concerns nicly not leting it become a screaming match.... I hope it works out
