I'am Offically a NON SMOKER
I did it, I quit.
I think this is the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my LIFE and Im scared to death to be honest. I dont know HOW Im gonna do it, but people have done it, this I know, so SO can I.
PLEASE dont flame me for TTC while smoking. Im looking for support, not judgement, cause believe me I judge myself enough, but thats my main factor right now in quitting.
If I want to have a child, I need to quit smoking.
So be aware people.....cranky girl on the loose.....
ANY tips etc from those who successfully quit are more then welcome

That is AWESOME!! I am so proud of you!!!!
It is sooooo hard in the beginning (especially when I quit - cause DH still did  ). But each day gets easier and easier. The thing that helped me was to keep busy. I liked to smoke when I was bored, so I tried to keep as busy as I could.
p.s. 8/4 - was 4 years for me!

way to go - that is awsome. I quit in Feb. of 2004 the day I found out I was pregnant. It was so hard, but I had no other choice. I haven't hada cigarette since.

Congratulations. I know from personal experience, it is hard, buy you WILL get thru this.
Keep busy, if you need something in your mouth, try sugarless gum, or carrot sticks (it worked for me).
I applaude you for this decision.

I've never smoked but DH used to - and he quit cold turkey.

Congratulations! It is hard, I am a past-smoker too, and sometimes you just want to give in....but stick to it. It's going to pay off so much in the long run!

I haven't had a cigarette since January of 2003. It was hard but so worth it. Just try to keep thinking of all the health benefits you will be gaining

I am a former smoker who quit when I became pregnant...but God, I loved it!
Try to avoid the circumstances under which you would smoke if at all possible...that's usually a tough one, but really the whole thing is tough no matter what you do. This is pretty morbid, but I would think to myself, "That next puff is what could kickstart the cancer."
Just know you CAN do it. If all else fails, you may want to record that commercial with that guy with the tracheotomy (sp?) and voice box who preaches against smoking. I think I would have quit cold turkey if that were out when I was smoking!
You are going to be so proud of yourself. I love saying I'm a non-smoker!!!

I quit a few years ago -- at the same time it was the best and most difficult thing I have done for myself.
It took me about two weeks to get the edge off, get past that and it will start to get a little easier. Try to avoid situations where you would normally smoke (i.e. when I quit, you could smoke in bars so I didn't go to any for a month or so. that sort of thing).

First of all... CONGRATS!
I quit last July for about 8 months then I "fell off the wagon". But I will be quitting again the second a prenatal vitamins touches my toungue.
I found that watching alot of TV and movies, reading and (yes, sadly) eating kept my mind off of the smoking. Yelling out loud "I want a cigarette!!!" at the top of your lungs is a great way to vent too.

TTC while smoking is more common then anyone would like to admit...so is drinking while TTC.
I am proud of you and you can FEDex/UPS me any of your leftover ciggarettes and lighters!!!
