Re: Those whose DC is going through terrible two's...
whining, crying for no apparent reason, refusing to listen, she says "no, mommy, I don't have to..." when I ask / tell her to do something, fighting nighttime
I will say though, she is 2 1/2 and it has gotten better in the past few months
she still has her moments but they are not all the time like they used to be

Whining, having meltdowns for no reason, crying all the time, saying "no!" to everything.

I have this as well...was finding it useful until DD took it with an emphatic "Mine" and hid it among her toys / books!!!
Must search for it and reclaim it!

Re: Those whose DC is going through terrible two's...
We've seen a lot of "no". Not just any "no", but "NO" screamed from the top of your lungs!
Also, we have entered the world of "mommy and daddy can't win". He will tell us he wants oatmeal. I will make it. Give it to him, then he throws a tantrum complete with crying and screaming about how he DOESN'T want oatmeal. So, being the good parent I am, I take away the bad oatmeal, the thing that is making my angel cry... until DS starts SCREAMING because I am taking away the oatmeal that he just told me he didn't want!
That's been fun! Takes a lot of patience and deep breathing on my part!

Re: Those whose DC is going through terrible two's...
A lot of talk back but we have good days and horrible days! I get a lot of NOs!!!! A LOT of Stop it, stop it, stop it!!! when you try to help her with something. Lots of temper tantrums. Occasionally when she gets really mad she will hit us - but luckily so for no other kids. A lot of mine mine mine these days too.
The worst is that TOs are no longer working - she will voluntarily go sit in them and doesn't take them seriously. The best is now when you try to take something away when she misbehaves do you know what she does - she will walk over to whatever it is that you threaten to take away, picks it up, walks over to the gate that separates her from another room and throws it over smiles, says BYE BYE and then turns to me, laughs and DOES whatever it was that she got in trouble for again She also doesn't seem to care if you remove her either - that just makes her temper tantrums worse and doesn't correct the behavior even if you do it consistently.

Re: Those whose DC is going through terrible two's...
All day long I hear MINE and I DO My SELVESSS!
Also I hear the whinning and crying all through out the day. Somedays it's as soon as she wakes up and I feel like it never ends. Then somedays are pretty darn good.

Re: Those whose DC is going through terrible two's...
My biggest problem has been getting her to leave someplace that's fun. Giving her lots of warnings (we're leaving in a few minutes, etc.) used to help. Then twice last week, that didn't work. Another annoying thing is her bossiness. And she's been known to push/hit her friends on occasion. She's almost 3 and I'm hoping all of these things improve with the beginning of preschool. But I've heard that this can last another year or two.

Re: Those whose DC is going through terrible two's...
Basically all we hear almost all day long is "No" "Mine" or else she is screaming/crying throwing a fit. She's also starting to throw things and occasionally bite.
