usually $3-4 - we also live near the city and they are not usually coming far, or even driving (and I probably should not be lazy and just go pick it up!).

20% is absurd to me. They're bringing me the food once. They're not refilling my water glass, serving me the food, bringing me extra ketchup, etc. To equate it with what a waiter does, I just don't see it that way. It's also a much lower investment of time than a waiter would do. Even so, sometimes a $3 tip is about 20% of the order if its just me and DH.

I agree. All of these other posts are making me feel so cheap! I'll tip $3 or $4, maybe if it's like $25.50 I'll give him $30 and tell him to keep the change. But 20% just to put a couple of bags in your car and drive it to my house seems a little excessive.
