I would pre-make drinks and PB&J sandwiches, etc and leave them on a low shelf in the fridge for my older son. I did the same with setting up a little area near me with crayons, paper, toys, etc and when I was BFing, he could help himself in the fridge and entertain himself nearby.

That is exactly what I have been doing. When I nurse Liam I make sure to have snacks and a sippy ready for Lauren so if she asks, I have it. Or I will have her sensory box ready which she knows she only gets when I feed the baby so she gets excited when I get ready to feed the baby because she knows she will get her box.

I read books to older DS while I nurse I usually sit in a chair and leave the books on an ottoman in front, when he comes over to me I ask him to show me pictures in the book, read the book to him ect. I also give him the Leap frog count? phone thing he loves that and keeps him entertained (he's also a bit younger too I should add he's 23 mos.)

What do you keep in the box?
