Tips to take photos of 2 kids
I tried my own photo shoot this past weekend and no luck
I cannot get DS (3yrs) to sit nicely next to his sister (1yr) long enough to snap a photo...and I have a good camera (Nikon D60).
I really want to do this on my own since I like the more natural photos and feel that after 3 Christmases I've already used all the KK backgrounds.
Does anyone have any tips to get just one good shot of the two of them I tried bribing with a lollipop and no luck
TIA....we will keep trying

Re: Tips to take photos of 2 kids
have them take 2 seperate shots and then photoshop them in together.
that is what we had to do for DS & DD

Re: Tips to take photos of 2 kids
I lose 5 years off my life when I try doing this. It is so hard. I am going to bribe them with a little Santa talk with the older ones but that doesn't help my 1 year old b/c she doesn't understand. Honestly it's almost impossible for me to do.
If lollipops aren't working, what is something that they have but you're willing to let them have for a good photshoot.
Taking 2 separate pics is a good idea but do you know how to photsohop? I for sure don't.

I have learned this, sometimes it is easier if you have Grandma or a good friend on hand to entertain the kids. They respond better for people other than MOm and Dad.

Re: Tips to take photos of 2 kids
same problem over here, although i have the added bonus of trying to get both myself and DH in the photo!
what "worked" for me indoors while playing around with the self timer, was to have them facing mirrors so they could see themselves while i ran back and forth - they found this hysterical.
outside i had DH running around like a lunatic which worked for DD#1 (who is 4 1/2), but not so much for DD#2 who is just a few days shy of 2. she just wanted to get up and run after him.
i am going to have to wait until thanksgiving when more family is around to keep them entertained. i bought a remote control and played around in the backyard over the weekend, but it was pointless with no one to make an *** of themselves. DD#2 fell for the "look at the bunny running" only about 3 times.

Re: Tips to take photos of 2 kids
Try sitting him down and putting a small sticker on the inside of his hand.
Have someone else set them up while you stand by ready to snap after you get your kid's attention.
Maybe have DS sit on something fun - like a small stool or kids chair. It'll buy you 3 seconds before he tries to get off of it.

Wrap a giant box and put them inside (if DD will pull herself up) ...Peek-a-Boos always get good smiles

Re: Tips to take photos of 2 kids
For quite a while, we would tag team. DW would set up DC and hold them where we wanted them, then I would count down, and she would pull her hands away half a second before I would snap the picture. Do that enough times, and you're bound to get one that you can work with....

Re: Tips to take photos of 2 kids
If you figure it out let me know. My 3 year old will sit most of the time bc she wants to pose with her it is my 17 month old who won't sit still long enough.
