Today is the saddest day of my life so far. Update on pg 10
I just found out that my sweet little baby has a chromosomal deletion that will most likely be profoundly disabling. We still have to do genetic testing on DH and I to determine if the deletion is from him or me and that will tell exactly which syndrome she has. Either way, they are both bad.

i am more than sorry....
we had a 'scare' such as this one at Christmas time when i was pregnant. when we had the genetic counselling, we were given such hope, etc. we were given EVERY fact our brains could handle and at the end the conclusion was that when Em was of childbearing age, we would have a talk with her about this....the counsellor told us no, that would likely NOT have to happen as there was already positive tests happening with rabbits to replace the 'missing' strand. by the time em is of 'childbearing age' there will likely be SOMETHING in place (pill, shot) to fix the situation.
please, have some hope - all is NOT lost....

I'm so so sorry.
If you don't mind sharing (and if you do I'm so sorry for asking), what if any steps can you take from here as far as DD is concerned? Is it something where treatment or therapy is an option? I'm only asking because my cousin's DD was also born with a chromosomal...something, basically a genetic condition that is super rare. They had such a rough go of actually finding a dr that had even heard of it let alone had experience with it but once they did it made the picture so much clearer for them. And they were even able to find a small support group online of other families around the country whose children were born with the same condition. It's been a great help for them.
