Toddler Mom's -Easter baskets

What are you putting in them? AND what are you putting in the eggs?

I try not to make Easter a "gift giving event" .. I bought him though two Melissa and Doug wood toys and Was gonna put it in there with some bubbles.

But what about the hidden eggs? Wondering what "treats" to fill them with.

I really am not into him having candy other then maybe a small piece of chocolate in his basket, but need ideas to fill the eggs with?

I am putting in their baskets, A Thomas train, bubble wands, plah-doh, Thomas Tarin books, and slinkies.
I m putting $$ in their Easter eggs, which I will just put in their piggy banks. I do not give my boys candy yet. They wont even eat it, so they are not missing out on anything.

Re: Toddler Mom's -Easter baskets

I have a 3 year old and this will be her first easter egg hunt. I am going to fill the eggs with raisins - yoghurt covered and chocolate covered and I also found these great organic jelly bunnies from aunt annie - all natural and they are her treats so will put some of those in too.

for her basket it will be bubbles, books and maybe a DVD.

Re: Toddler Mom's -Easter baskets

Last year I found some fruit gummies that Gerber made and we put them in there.

This year I am thinking of trying to find them, also gummy bears, and a couple with candy (maybe M&M's since she loves them).

In her basket, I bought her bubbles and a wand to go with it, a small chocolate bunny, a small stuffed animal, jelly beans, and I found plastic eggs that have tattoes and stickers in them and a small book

I think that is it Chat Icon

We did outdoor garden toys (rake, shovel, trowel) and beach toys last year when she was 2. This year she is getting a bell for her tricycle (she has been asking for it Chat Icon and some other little items.

We hid coins in her eggs last year for her piggy bank and one or two candies. And we will do the same this year. We did get her a mini chocolate bunny this year too.

Re: Toddler Mom's -Easter baskets

I'm filling the eggs with CEC tokens and stickers. I also bought one pack of those ones from Target with Little People in them. I have so much stuff for baskets/birthday, I have to sort through it all and see what exactly I'm putting in hers.

Re: Toddler Mom's -Easter baskets

So far I got books, crayons and bunny chalk. I still have to get some treats like m&ms, goldfish and some fruit snacks. I also think I'm going to get her a stuffed bunny she's been eyeing at the pharmacy.

It is a tradition in my family to put $ in the eggs. This will be DD's 1st year getting it.

Re: Toddler Mom's -Easter baskets

In the eggs I'm putting Backyardigans and Nemo fruit snacks, a few goldfish and some mini-pretzels. I did buy some M&Ms, but he's only getting a few. Last year I put cheerios in the eggs. Teddy Grahams is another good little snack treat.

I also have sidewalk chalk, stickers, a book, a puzzle, a new dinosaur partioned plate and some beach buckets to make a sand castle.

Re: Toddler Mom's -Easter baskets

So far, I have a new pair of sunglasses ($.99 at the Children's Place!), a few small bath toys, and some little books.

I'll also likely pick up one or two of those "on the go" containters from the supermarket of Ritz bits (her favorite) and/or Teddy Grahams...

I got the big eggs and matchbox cars to put in them. Also have some regular eggs that I am just going to put change in.....my DS loves change!! He yells "MONEY" and puts it in his bank.

In his basket, I got a Thomas train, a few coloring books and other things from the $1 section at Target, play-doh and a few Cars toys.

Re: Toddler Mom's -Easter baskets

Basket I got her some craft stuff.. paint, crayons, etc.

Eggs shes only 1.5.. so not putting anything in them. If I put candy in them shes going to want to eat it, and it being small enough to go into egg.. afraid shell choke on it. Money she has no real concept of money .. so rather not worry about having all the change at end... and her possibly swallowing one. So well just hunt for empty eggs until both girls are big enough for stuff.

For the eggs, I'm going to put $1 in each and $10 in the golden egg. This kid loves getting money, he saves it for something special.

Re: Toddler Mom's -Easter baskets

A lot of the same stuff as above:
- sidewalk chalk
- several books
- several coloring books
- stickers
- sandbox toys
- sunglasses
- headbands (that she'll never wear-- lol!)
- deck of cards (they were $1 so even though she doesn't know how to play obviously, she'll like them)
- new flashcards

Most stuff is from the Target $1 bins!

I wasn't planning on putting anything edible in it, since she doesn't eat candy. Guess I could put some goldfish or something in some eggs maybe Chat Icon
