This is my MIL to a "T". We were with her last week and all she kept talking about was how great DS was and blah, blah. But we haven't heard from her since. I actually just got off the phone with my SIL and we were discussing this.

It is just so hard, and I think it is harder since my parents are so great to him (and us) so we know how good it can be, KWIM?

I could have wrtittne this myself...except that I have one dc....my parents are the same, and live in Queens, but it seems like Alaska at times....I have cried, gotten over it, cried and repeated again and again over this....its so hard and I have tried everything...and in our case my mil who always watned grandkids and would have been at the other end of the spectrum, passed away before we ever had dd, so its that much harder.....

dh and i have deicded that we will just give our dd the best we can and all the love in the world - maybe one day my parents will change but dd will hopefully neevr realize for now and we have wonderful friends to love and play with her....
