Re: Toxicology reports on Taconic Crash in
My heart breaks over this...and it's hard to look at my little boy because I know his face always tells the story of the unquestionable trust he has in me. I can't imagine putting his life in danger like that...or anyone else's child. This story has my stomach turning and all I can think of is the father's words...cherish your children

Re: Toxicology reports on Taconic Crash in
the hardest part for me in this, is her lil boy, who is alive and will have to live his life knowing what his mother did to him, his sister and his cousins...and that his dad may have known...
i am sick..

Re: Toxicology reports on Taconic Crash in
This is unbelievable...totally unreal to imagine someone putting their own children in danger like that, not to mention their brother's children as well!
Just goes to show that we never really know anybody..... And that poor surviving son is gonna be a mess for life...
Sick, just sick..... I can't wait to get home to see my boy....

Re: Toxicology reports on Taconic Crash in
when i saw that there were 6 pages to this thread before i even opened it i knew it wasn't good.
when i opened it and read alcohol and marijuana, i just wanted to cry. how can a MOTHER do something like that?? those poor innocent children and those 3 innocent men died for nothing. absolutely nothing.
i am just so heartbroken. i was truly thinking it was a medical condition because, again, what mother would put her children in harm's way?
and what was she doing binge drinking before noon? i wonder if she had a major drinking problem. who was she drinking with and why did no one stop her from getting in the car?

I really wanted to believe she was sick, had some sort of "episode" due to a medical issue.
OMG, I don't even have words. Not only all those beautiful, innocent children, but the 3 other men killed too.
Same here--this is just unbelievable

Re: Toxicology reports on Taconic Crash in
Disgusting I just feel terrible for the children that lost their lives and the families having to deal with this terrible loss
ETA: Her BAC was .19!!!! That's insane!!!! I was a substance abuse counselor for many years and I've seen people for therapy that had a BAC of .12 or .15 but .19 is out of control! What a disgusting thing to do to those children and the other men that died in the accident. I'm outraged!

Re: Toxicology reports on Taconic Crash in
This is absolutley insane and disgusting!! I cannot believe anyone would get in a car either drunk and high or with the intention of getting drunk/high. I grew up with an alcoholic father and lucked out that he didn't have his license for most of my childhood. She definitely had a serious problem if her BAC level was that high so early. I wonder if she started before she got in the car or if it was something she did in the car. I remember on the news, a woman from where they stayed saying everyone was happy and the woman was fine getting into the car. But then again, when my dad's BAC level was a lot higher than hers (he literally should not have been able to stand), the cops had no clue. They only became suspicious because of the smell.
I'll just keep the families and victims in my prayers. They must be going through so much right now...reliving everything again and again.

Re: Toxicology reports on Taconic Crash in
Just saw this on 1010wins.com
"Blood tests also showed she had smoked marijuana 15 minutes to an hour before the crash, said Betsy Spratt, chief toxicologist for the Westchester County medical examiner."
She left the campground at 9:30am and went to McDonald's only a few minutes away...the crash occurred at 1:30pm. She must have been smoking pot IN the car while driving those poor children.

I agree. Who smokes pot in front of children. and wttf, was she drinking at McDonald's? There is so much time there that it doesn';t make sense. I also read there was more alcohol in her stomach.
She must have been a serious alcoholic to be drinking in the morning. Or perhaps they were partying all through the night and she just continued on the ride home. I think the brother and husband were drinking with her. In some messed up way I think the pot was given to her by them to make her be less drunk to drive. Smoking pot after that much alcohol seriously seriously impairs your driving that much more.
Another poster said that they were probably all drinking and she was the most "sober" out of all of them. Something is missing, it doesn't add up.
It is sad all around.

It seems she did this intentionally...something else will come out...everything doesn't add up yet
I was thinking the same thing, almost like some kind of PPD suicide mission. In any case the whole situation makes me sick to think about. Those poor families ripped apart by this sick woman. I hope they are able to find peace one day
I also think it was some sort of suicide - DH said this all along This story has me so sad

The grief that both families have to deal with is just unthinkable.
So many pieces of this story seem to be missing.

Smoking pot doesn't make you less drunk though, and ANY parent who would rationalize something like that should be held in front of a firing squad...... I do agree thought that there is still a LOT of information not being given....many things don't add up....it's DISTURBING....
Children and innocent victims are DEAD.....DEAD.....it's time for that family to start talking......

Re: Toxicology reports on Taconic Crash in
I too think it was some sort of a suicide mission. What parent in their right mind (or any mind for that matter), would drink vodka in the car with children and smoke pot while transporting 5 precious lives???
It is sickening and so much more to this story will come out that I am sure!
