I don't get why she'd call her brother to tell him she didn't feel well. It's all very odd

this is what the brother reported after the accident...she was already dead and could not confirm his story. I bet it will come out, that he called her to check on the kids, realized she was high and drunk and told her that he was going to have her cell phone traced. Then called the police. That is why she threw it out the window...regardless...this story is just so tragic for all involved!!!

Absolutely disgusting! To know that this horrific tragedy could have been prevented must be devastating to all of the families involved/affected by this.

What a horrible, selfish and unforgivable thing to do Chat Icon.Chat Icon

good points - or else she fled b/c she knew she was screwed b/c the police would see her in that condition.

The cell phone records show though that she called the brother, not the other way around.

I think what people are fogetting about is the family that are left behind. That husband has to live with the guilt that his wife killed thier nieces and nephews. A son will never know his mother and his final images are those of fear and death.

A brother who will never hold his children again. A mother who will never braid her daughter's hair.

We sit here and pass judgement on people we don't know and on a story that we don't know all of the pieces to.

I pray that we never have to feel the pain that these 3 families are feeling right now.

You are forgetting the families of the other people she killed. They were completly innocent. Minding their own business.

I think a little judgement is warranted in this case...she MURDERED 7 people ..period.......I feel terrible for the family that is left in the wake of all this but she is, indeed a murderer

Or did one of the girls call their father using her phone because they were scared?

We will never know. Chat Icon

It's all simply unbelievable.

Yes this is true..I mentioned this to a friend before all of this came out because they had said the little girl called her father. My friend said she probably had her own cell...but if I remember correctly, she told her father she saw a sign for Tarrytown..isnt that right off the Tappan Zee where she left her phone? Maybe she got mad at the kid for calling and stopped there to throw the phone. So many questions.

Isn't someone on the boards neighbors with this woman. Did anything seem strange on the homefront w/these people?

Re: Toxicology reports on Taconic Crash in

Emma did speak to her father around where she pulled over. To me thats just even more tragic bc that poor little girl had to know she was in danger, she had to get that something wasnt right.

I think the father called her bc Diane wouldnt tell him where they were bc he called her to get their location.

I thought I remember someone saying they were next door neighbors to the family...that doesn't necessarily mean they would have seen anything wrong because so many people have dirty little secrets and lead lives that look perfect on the outside.

But this woman had to have some kind of alcohol and drug problems....who the eff starts drinking at 9:30 in the morning and who smokes marijuana knowing they are hours away from home with 5 kids they are responsible for...who does that???????? I'm sorry if the reports are true she's a murderer and should be remembered as such.

Not only did she destroy her family she took 3 other lives of people she didn't even know!!!

Re: Toxicology reports on Taconic Crash in

That's what I mean when I ask. Although I'm sure if she had a drinking or drug problem, the chances are her brother / SIL would NOT have allowed her to take them.

Something triggered her to do this. It almost sounds like a suicide mission. I am obsessed with this story because I have two DD's and I can't imagine this happening to mine.

I think i read that the sister (diane) passed the phone to her niece and that is how the brother (father of emma) spoke to his daughter.

I almost didn't want to open this post because I had a sinking feeling about the news it would contain. I am so disgusted by this if it is true. I was so hoping it was a medical condition that led to this tragedy..I just didnt want to believe anything else.

Re: Toxicology reports on Taconic Crash in

It's confirmed now....DISGUSTED!!!

from newsday:

Toxicology tests showed that Schuler had a blood-alcohol level of 0.19, Westchester District Attorney Janet DiFiore in a statement. DiFiore said the tests also showed that Schuler "was operating the vehicle while impaired by marijuana."

not making excuses, but trying to figure this out:

Do you think maybe she was hammered the night BEFORE and was still drunk?

and I think (not positive) that pot stays in your system for like 30 days after you smoke. Maybe she smoked the night or week before? I just don't see someone drinking at 9 in the morning & driving home with all those kids.
