Re: Transit Strike Contingency Plan - Anyone seen it?
We just got an email that we're to make all reasonable efforts to get in. Duh ! More than half of us live within the 5 borroughs though so I'm curious to see what Friday will bring. I'm lucky in that I live in walking distance of an LIRR station and work walking distance from Penn.

Re: Transit Strike Contingency Plan - Anyone seen it?
NY1 just posted the full plan:
NYC Contingency Plan
If there is a strike, only cars with four or more people will be allowed in Manhattan below 96th Street between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Commercial traffic will also be banned during those same hours, and the same restrictions will be in place for all bridges and tunnels into Manhattan.
Also, during the evening rush, all lanes along the Williamsburg and Manhattan bridges will only run in out of Manhattan. The same goes for the Brooklyn Battery, Queens Midtown and Lincoln tunnels.
In addition, carpool areas will be set up at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and Shea Stadium in Queens.
Cabs will also be encouraged to pick up more than one passenger if they're all headed in the same direction.
The city is asking people to use ferries and commuter rails to get around in the event of a strike.
On the commuter lines, PATH trains would run from the World Trade Center station to 33rd Street. Metro-North is also planning to run shuttles between Grand Central Terminal and its Bronx stops for 3 dollars each way. Long Island Rail Road will also run shuttles from Penn Station to Jamaica.
Finally, the Department of Education says school will start two hours later for the duration of the strike to give students enough time to get to class, but students will still be dismissed at their usual times.

I am sure my company will make some sort of announcement this week.
But since I have to DJ in the evening... I might as well just make the effort to get in. I'll just shoot to get in at around 11:30am after they lift the restriction.
