Transition from the crib?

At what age did you move your child from their crib - to a either a toddler bed or a real bed?

TIA!

Re: Transition from the crib?

Since we have a convertible crib for DD we are trying to decide if we should get a second crib or give the new baby her furniture and get new stuff for her.

The babies will be sharing rooms for a short time (we have 4 bedrooms but until the kids get a bit older I don't want them on 2 different floors) so we just can't decide what to do - I think if I get DD a bed she will be up and running around but I wasn't sure what age most people transitioned their children.

Maybe get a toddler bed and see how she does with that

Re: Transition from the crib?

I just turned DS' crib into a day bed. I was pg and was thinking about having to transition to a bed and then a new room all in 9 mos. Now that I am no longer pg I figure why not start now anyway. He is doing great in it and loves it (oh he was 2 on 7/27) He is very proud of his big boy bed
