transition to the crib nightmare continues help!
ugh...transitioning DD to the crib has not gotten any better. She is 4 months old and each night has gotten worse.
i dont know what to do anymore
she is not hungry and has a decent schedule during the day. she naps well.
she was sleeping in the pnp in our room and napped always in her crib so the transition should not be so difficult. she was sleeping 9-10hours a night. now she is waking up every hour or so and i used to be able to put the pacifier back in but this week i have to rock her or she won't sleep at all.
i tried CIO because i was so desperate to sleep and she SCREAMED for 30 minutes! i gave up after that.
what other things can i try???
ETA: she naps on her belly but always went to bed at night on her back. should i try to have her sleep on her belly at night??? i'm nervous about that.

Re: transition to the crib nightmare continues help!
First of all
Sorry this is such a challenging transition for you.
You did mention that you tried CIO but gave up after 30 minutes. IMO, if you are going to do CIO, you have to stick to your guns and go all the way with it.
If DD cries for a half hour and you end up getting her, it defeats the purpose of CIO and she will learn that if she continues to cry you will come get her.
We used CIO (Ferber Method) with DS and I have to say it sucks and is so hard to listen to them cry... but we stuck with it and are very happy with the results.
My suggestion would be to try CIO again with the understanding that the first few nights might be rough.
ETA: I just realized that DD is only 4 months. We waited until DS was 6 months so I am not sure what the concensus is on starting CIO earlier. Before DS turned 6 months, we were just rocking him to sleep most nights.

Have you tired to put her to bed in the PNP in her bedroom?
I would say that putting her to sleep on her stomach is okay as long as she can roll over.
