Traveling Related Question - Liquid On the Plane
I have a large thermos and I keep warm water in it to mix Ella's feed. I would like to take the thermos on the plane with the warm water for her feedings and would like to know if the airlines will allow it on the plane.
I know before you could not take liquids on the plane so I am wondering if they will allow me with it knowing it's for DD bottles.
Thanks

Re: Traveling Related Question - Liquid On the Plane
Nope. Only breast milk.
They made me throw out DS's sippy cup of water. Took it right out of his little hands.
We wound up ordering a "hot tea" with no teabag (they wouldn't sell me just water ) and stuck the bottle in that to warm it in the airport.

Hey Opal,

It seems as if this is what I have to do. Yikes! Things are just never the same since 9/11. When I travel to NC on the plane before I didn't worry because it's a short flight.

Re: Traveling Related Question - Liquid On the Plane
We flew overseas last month and they made me empty out all the liquid in DD's sippy cup and dispose of any water bottles DH and I had. Once we were past security though we were able to purchase water and put it in her sippy cup then. So you will be alright once you pass security.

Yea, they'll let you bring formula or breast milk, but not water...
You should be able to get hot water from the flight attendant while on the filght...

Re: Traveling Related Question - Liquid On the Plane
Wow, I guess I have been fortunate enough to get nicer/more lenient screeners! I always travel with a sippy of water for DS and they have allowed it. I am shocked that they have not let you guys! Regardless, you can always pick up a bottle of water after security and warm it up in a cup of hot water.

Re: Traveling Related Question - Liquid On the Plane
I called the airline because we are traveling next week. They said they allow formula or breast milk enough for the trip and they allow baby food sealed. my DD likes warm formula also. I guess we have to warm it up in a cup of hot water. Good luck and safe flight.

Re: Traveling Related Question - Liquid On the Plane
We just booked our tickets to go home to England I asked Virgin - they checked with TSA for me as Nathan has Soy Milk, 6oz per feed. They said yes you can take pre-mixed formula or breast milk, they may make you taste it, but no water as you can get this at airport anyway.

OK. Well, I am leaving to attend my grandma funeral so not an exciting trip for me. Yes, the surcharge is ridiculous!

Re: Traveling Related Question - Liquid On the Plane
I doubt they'd let you through with a thermos. I've traveled with water in the bottles before and had no issues. I totally think it totally depends on the agent, though. To be safe, you can always buy water after you go through security and it will be warm since it won't be refrigerated.

Re: Traveling Related Question - Liquid On the Plane
This is what TSA's website says that you can bring when traveling with children:
http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/children/index.shtm#4
As long as you follow those guidelines you should be okay - you could print it out and if someone gives you a hard time show them the sheet? If you could I would wait to buy water or juice after you go thru security - but if you are bringing formula the above should tell you what they allow and what they don't. Hot water you can get on the flight.
