Trouble sleeping...at 19 weeks??

The past few days I'm just not sleeping at night. I get into bed and I'm tired, but between the stuffy nose, the pure insomnia, and the uncomfortableness, I dont fall asleep until around 5am!!

Mostly right now I'm just uncomfortable -- I have trouble breathing at night and even though I'm sleeping on my sides, I feel like my belly is so "full" that it actually feels like my rib cage is being squished together. I've tried the pillow between the legs and the pillow behind me, but nothing is helping. I feel like 19 weeks is SO early to be feeling this uncomfortable. I didnt expect to get to this point until at least 30 weeks Chat Icon Is it normal to be having so much trouble sleeping/laying down this early?

Re: Trouble sleeping...at 19 weeks??

I'm at 20 weeks and I'm finding that every night it gets a little harder to sleep...I have no trouble falling asleep but between the pressure on my bladder and just not being able to get comfortable, I am up most of the night. I'm pretty sure that this is common and is only going to get worse...Chat Icon

Re: Trouble sleeping...at 19 weeks??

I had trouble sleeping throughout my pregnancy. I was constantly up for hours during the middle of the night.

Have you tried sleeping on a pillow. or resting on one. I had a hard time sleeping for a while and found that that's really the only thing that helps. They have those pregnancy pillows but i just use the regular one.

I felt that way right around then.. It got better and now is getting worse again. I go through spurts of good sleeping and bad sleeping. Hang in there. A snoogle might help about now.

Re: Trouble sleeping...at 19 weeks??

It just flat out sucks. I am 32 weeks and I have RLS and now back pains so last night was the first night out of this week I was able to sleep. I go into the shower at all hours of the night because Im in so much pain and am so uncomfortable which does help. I went to my OB yesterday and he said he was going to put me out on disability soon if the back problems do not get better, now Im going to try PT. Goood luck no real advice. I am counting the days till delivery..Chat Icon
