Twitching/pulsing eyelid
For the past 3-4 days, I have been getting this intermittent pulsing/twitching feeling in my left eyelid. I looked it up online, and it's supposedly due to nerves/stress. My mom said that she once had it for months! I don't feel particularly stressed, but I tend to channel it to my body (which explains the 8 months of hives I had prior to my wedding).
Has anyone ever had this, and is there anything to do to relieve it? It's driving me nuts!

Re: Twitching/pulsing eyelid
I used to get it during finals all the time. Cutting out caffiene helped get rid of it, but I think it ususally is stress related (that's what the doc told me).

Re: Twitching/pulsing eyelid
I've had this before! Sleeping definitely helps me...Often when I am stressed I don't sleep enough. My mom used to tell me a warm compress too.
Anything you can do to calm down would be best! Good luck...It's so annoying. I don't know if you wear contacts, but I usually take a break from them too.

Re: Twitching/pulsing eyelid
I"m having the same thing right now. It tends to happen when I'm very stressed or very tired. Oddly enough I had no twitiching prior to my wedding but house hunting and my job has my eye going nuts!
Don't have a way to stop it, if you find one, please let me know.

Re: Twitching/pulsing eyelid
I have been having that on and off now for months!!!
It is stress and sleep-related. I def don't get enough sleep, so I am going to go to bed right now!! Maybe if I start treating myself a little better it will go away!!
Do you sleep enough? I only get 5-6 hours a night during the week, but maybe tonight I will get 7, so hopefully this will go away!!!

Sleep more, relax, cut down stress, and try to have less caffine.

I've had it on and off for probably 3 years now.
At first I thought it was something quite serious but then it souded like a lot of people had it so now I just deal with it.

Re: Twitching/pulsing eyelid
I've had that before. I get it from lack of sleep and stress. Only exercise and sleep help get rid of it.
I know how annoying it is! Feel better!

Re: Twitching/pulsing eyelid
That's so funny that you posted this...I was just complaining to DH tht I have had a twitch in my right eye for a week now and it is driving me nuts!!
I read that it is prob due to stress, lack of sleep, staring at the computer all day, etc.. I am starting to put a warm compress on it for a little bit before bed - hopefully this will help.

Eat a banana. You could get these symptoms if your potassium is running a little low.

I get it every once in a while. I guess it could be stressed related.
It drives me crazy.

Re: Twitching/pulsing eyelid
It is usually due to stress and caffiene just irritates it.

Re: Twitching/pulsing eyelid
OMG so weird you posted this....I have dealt with this for several years on and off but it just started to get bad again lately...in fact, it's happening right now! I hate it when I'm having a serious conversation with someone and it starts up..I keep wondering if they notice and start diverting my eyes in all diff directions.

Re: Twitching/pulsing eyelid
I had that problem before the holidays when I was working a lot. I think it was eye strain from too much pc use and not enough sleep. I also changed my eye make-up remover at the time, so I thought it might be that. I went for an eye exam last week and discovered that I need glasses. You might want to get your eyes checked just for peace of mind.
