Two food tips for 12+ months
Last night I made Sasha some polenta. Shaved a little cheese on top and spread a tiny amount of sauce-- then I cut the round piece into little triangles. It was a hit. I just pan fried the kind that comes in a package for a few mins on either side.
Then-- she was very distressed while eating her lunch today. So I was looking for stuff I could give her (for her teeth). I gave her a pedialyte ice-- she sucked on it a bit, then I was able to get some food in her mouth in b/t the ice. Normally, she would not have finished her lunch-- but she did!!
Just wanted to share especially for those who have trouble at meal time.

Thanks, the polenta sounds interesting for DD.
The ice pop is similar to our strategy with DD, except we use a frozen teether to soothe and entertain her in between bites.
Meal time has all of a sudden become a nightmare with DD and I am not sure if it is teeth related (molars), texture related or if her appetite has changed. Has it become troublesome for you too?

Re: Two food tips for 12+ months
DS was about 16 mos old when this started but I thought I'd share...
We were at my sisters toasting mothers day. He thought this was the funniest thing.
Then he wouldn't eat his meat, so we did meat cheers and he ate.
He's 2+ now and we still do meat cheers.

I have similar feeding issues lately....I also try to not make eye contact as funny as that sounds. Especially if she starts throwing the food. If I give her no reacton and don't look at her, she seems to "give up" and eat!
