Uggg I just dont understand HELP!!! (infant sleep and eating help)
So my DS is SOOOO inconsistant when it comes to how much and how often he eats, which then makes him inconsistant with his sleeping. I go back to work next week and he has decided to go from eating every three hours to back to every two hours about 2-3 oz. So now instead of sleeping pretty well he was up EVERY TWO HOURS last night looking to eat. He ate about 3 oz at a time.
Last week he was eating 4-5 oz and sleeping 6-8 hours at a time. Now we are back to this!!! What is happening!! is there anyway to get him on a better eating and sleeping schedule!! Why did he revert back????
IM EXHUASTED!!!

this coming from a mommy of a very poor eater (although, youd never know from looking at her, her rolls say otherwise) 
Until she was 2.5 months Sophia wouldnt ever THINK of eating more than 2-3oz/bottle
SHe finally started eating 5oz at 3.5 months. Then all of a sudden it was back to 3-4oz/bottle. This lasted until a few days ago. It worried me because most 5 month olds I know drink at least 6oz/bottle. So, shed take 3-4oz every 3 hours. This week she finally has gone back to usually finishing her 5oz bottles. Its crazy how incosistant she is, and it drives me nuts!
How old is your LO? Maybe he's starting to teeth? I think that has been Sophia's problem. She'll start chewing on or playing with the nipple instead of eating. She also has had 2 colds in the past month, which has definitely affected her eating habits.

Sounds like it could be a growth spurt. I bet you he will revert back in a week or so.

My dd started waking up twice a night right when I started going back to work(when she turned 3 months old)...it lasted about 3 wks and now she is giving me 7-9 hour stretches again...I think it was a growth spurt. Hope it gets better for you soon!

Its frustrating also b/c we know DS can sleep until 5:00am when going to bed at 9:30-10:00
ds IS 12 WEEKS ON tUESDAY. if it is a growth spurt wouldnt he be eating more not less?? he is eating more frequently but not really any more oz? kwim

This is not a flame, but my DS would occasionally do this too, but he didn't consistently sleep through the night until he was one.
And in reality, he is so tiny, you need to give him what he wants. You can try to give hima bigger bottle before bed and see if he will take that and it might last longer, but it never worked with my DS

omg my dd is the same way I wondering if she was the only one.
I dont have any advice but my dd is 8 months and still doesnt always finish a 5/6 oz bottle usually its 3 oz at a time so basically I am feeding her all day long!!!!!
good luck it may just be a phase but hopefully not!

Im hoping it's a phase. I would never expect my son to do something he wasn't ready for. But he was doing 8 6-8 hours so I know he can.
I feel like if he would just eat more he'd do that again. KWIM. It's amazing that he can eat 2 oz at one feeding and 4 at another!!

Just a couple of weeks ago I was saying that my dd was all over the place-sometimes 3.5 ounces sometimes 6...after a few weeks of this she is more consistant at around 5.5 every 3 hours...about once a day she can only go 2 hours in between and now she is back to sleeping longer...I really think it will get better again it just may take a few weeks....I felt the same exact way-perfect timing-right when I went back to work is when her sleeping got worse!
