The traditional names are the unique ones now My DD has had so many Chases, Declans, Dylans & Evans in her classes.....it's amazing how times change.

We're also having the same problem.
But ours is really complicated too.
In the Jewish religion it's customary to name after someone who has passed.
We would like to name after my grandfather, but my father has the same name (my grandfather was his step-father), and because thank g-d, my father is still living, we can't use the name we want. So we are trying to come up with some creative solutions and are coming up empty handed.
This baby is going to have no name when he's born.

Wow...that is tough.
I'm not Jewish, but I thought I remembered hearing something about the significance of the first letter of the name--is that right? So that even though you can't use the name you want, you can find something with the same letter? I could be getting that all wrong...
This is just so hard--I feel like *I* have finally found another name that I really like, but DH is really giving me a hard time about it. He's going back to a name that we BOTH like, but we totally chose the wrong name for DD because it sounds SO similar that it's kinda matchy-matchy...
Gahhhhhhhhh part of me just wants to do a Daniel Jr. and get it over with--but my DH goes by Danny since he was a little boy, and that's probably what we'd wind up calling and then things would get REALLY confusing!

With DS, we can't even talk about it. We can agree on anything.
That's exactly where we are.
I absolutely LOVE the name Ethan, but DH won't even discuss it...he can't stand it (please don't take offense, moms of Ethans! I think it's a great name!). Same with Nathan.
So I said, "Fine, bring something to the table and we'll discuss it".
So far he's suggested:
1. Malcolm Xavier...this way, he can sign his name "Malcolm X. Rivera"
2. Riley. Too bad our daughter's name is Ryleigh.
See what I'm dealing with here? It's all a big joke!
this is same issue i'm having with Girl's names. DH says no to everything i suggest, yet he doesn't have anything to bring to the table.
