Ugh! Jury Duty!
I just got a jury duty summons today! I'm on the call list for January 20 and may have to report Feb 2nd. Anyone get jury duty while pg? What if I get a long case and my water breaks in trial!? Can you imagine!
I've never been assigned to a case. Had to go in and sit for a day and was dismissed on every case. Hopefully this will happen again. But I don't want to miss my 20 week visit because I'm sitting in a jury pool!!!! Poo!

Re: Ugh! Jury Duty!
I got a jury summons last December, I was about 17-18 weeks pregnant. My number was called and I went down to Riverhead. Would you believe I got chosen to serve on a jury. I always wanted to serve so I didn't mind that much, I was just shocked that they would choose an obviously pregnant person (and I told them I was pregnant too)

Re: Ugh! Jury Duty!
I just finished serving jury duty. I got a summons to call starting Friday Jan 9th. I called and had to report in Riverhead yesterday. I reported yesterday and today and was dismissed. It wasn't that bad. It was actually a lot of waiting and we took a bunch of breaks. I didn't get chosen for a jury. Good luck.

Re: Ugh! Jury Duty!
Some cases are really short. The one I was questioned for was only going to be a week. That isn't too bad.

My friend just served on a jury while PG too. She was probably at about the same point of her pregnancy.
So they do definitely choose PG women for juries. Her case lasted a few weeks.

Re: Ugh! Jury Duty!
Crashing to tell you from a lawyer's perspective, if asked any questions, be as biased as possible. And tell them that you would render your decision based on the voices that talk to you in your head. Even better if they have names!
If it were my jury, I would pre-empt you. Unfortunately, I don't get jury trials!

Re: Ugh! Jury Duty!
I was also just summoned to federal jury duty in Brooklyn. I have to start calling Feb. 9th. I am 30.5 weeks now. By then I'll be really close to my C/s date. I live out east. I just served last year but it wasn't federal. UGH. My doctor wrote me a letter b/c i am high risk and in my 3rd tri. I just have to pick it up. Crazy!!

Oh geez! I just got scared! I ran to check my letter... it's for Suffolk County. It doesn't say Riverhead or CI so CI would be nice.

This happened to me as well.
I was 6 months pregnant at the time. They were prepping us for a case that would last 3-4 months.
On the questionaire they make you fill out I wrote a novel about how I was pregnant and could not commit to such a lengthy trial.
The next day I got a call saying not to come back.
