Re: UPDATED AGAIN--POST-OP!!! UPDATED AT BOTTOM...Bladder stones / surgery WWYD?
Posted by NewYawkah
UPDATE!!
They were able to do the easier surgery--and they scooped out 28!!!! stones from his poor bladder. They did not have to do the bigger surgery because they were able to get all of the stones out of his urethra.
So, he is "resting comfortably" but hasn't gotten out of his cage yet. They said he was sleeping now, but they'll try to get him out and walk him a bit before they leave.
If he can walk, (and pee, tomorrow), he can come home.
I hope the worst is over, but I am very happy at the moment at this outcome.
Thank you so much for all of your advice and your prayers. I will keep you updated!!
I just came on to say, yes, I would do the surgery. I have been thinking about it. I am soooo glad it is actually done and turned out well!!!
I KNOW you did the right thing!!! Yay. SO glad all is well!!!!! For a speedy recovery!!!!!

UPDATED AGAIN--POST-OP!!! UPDATED AT BOTTOM...Bladder stones / surgery WWYD?
UPDATE:
He is doing all right, the pain meds at night knock him out and he sleeps a lot but that's probably good for recovery.
The poor guy has a naked belly from where they shaved him--and he's very red and swollen but it seems to be getting a little better now.
This weather isn't helping with the walks, he doesn't want to go far but I hope when it's not pouring he'll resume his normal-length walks.
This morning he cried when he was trying to get up :( but we are hoping that will get better with time. He's tough!
He is eating normally. They actually gave us a vial of his stones... they sent some off to be tested but we have probably 23 of them. There were 26 in his bladder and 2 in his urethra... poor guy.
Here is a pic of him. MY BABY!!
