UPDATE!!!!-Baby measuring small
so we finally got our BFP on second ivf try and have nothing but issues since first my betas didn't rise well then they did, then progesterone falling and placed back on PIO, now I went for 8 week appointment at ob and baby had strong heartbeat but was measuring 9 days behind. They told me not to worry but I'm worried. From what I read online strong heartbeat is good and sometimes ivf babies measure small in beginning but then catch up. Other things I read say that at subsequent scans baby no longer has heartbeat and peoples pregnancies ended in miscarriage. I'm so anxious I put a call in to RE but have to wait til Monday to hear back. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Success stories? I just don't know if I can wait 3 weeks for next Sono. I'm also worried there might be something genetically wrong with baby :-/
Update: so yesterday my doctors office gave me a call and apparently my regular OB spoke to a high-risk maternal fetal medicine Doctor who wanted me to come in today for a repeat sonogram. So I went today and the baby was measuring exactly 9 weeks and four days which is exactly what I am today! And the heart rate was 186! I'm so excited that the baby grew and is measuring exactly what it is supposed to be measuring! Thank you everyone for your support and kind words I really couldn't get through this infertility journey without you all.

I know you are super anxious and worried, I would be too. Yes, IVF babies can sometimes be measuring small. But at 8 weeks, these babies are so tiny. I did the IUI and am pregnant with twins. Baby B is measuring smaller than 8 but the angle of baby B is odd and is always hiding. My RE said not to worry about them measuring small at this point.
I would also call the OB as well, let them know your concern and ask for an ultrasound in a week. Try and stay calm I'm sure everything is fine!!!

Waiting is hard enough but even harder when there is even a hint that something might be wrong. Maybe they will let you come in earlier given the circumstances. My OB let me have a sono at 10 weeks because she knew I couldn't go for a month without seeing a heartbeat, After going weekly at RE it felt weird and I was too afraid after the 2 MC's. I'm sure they will understand.

At 8 weeks I was measuring 6 days behind and at my 12w NT scan I was 2. So the baby caught up. I was told anything up to 7 days is totally normal for a regular pregnancy. If IVF babies measure even smaller then it really might be fine.
I would definitely push for another U/S. Maybe not for tomorrow, but definitely before 3 weeks.

Thank u so much everyone for responding and helping to calm me a little. I'm definitely calling RE tomorrow to c if they'll do just one more ultrasound maybe at the end of this week? I'd be almost 10 weeks then. I guess I'll c what they say.

So I spoke with my RE this am and she was not reassuring at all said if I'm going to miscarry then I'll miscarry there is nothing they can do about it and another ultrasound is not going to change anything. So I guess I just have to wait 3 weeks for ultrasound this is going to be a long wait :-/

Ugh. that is so frustrating. Your RE is right. A U/S won't change the outcome, but it might give you peace of mind! Nothing is worse than an anxious mommy!!!
I just re-read your post and saw you did this last U/S with your OB. What about calling them. Maybe they will be more sympathetic than your RE?

Ugh, that's so rude! My RE said I could go in as many times as I needed for peace of mind. I wish all REs knew how stressful it was on new mamas to be.
What about your OB? Will she let you come in?

Ok so now I spoke with ob they said they would move sono up one week so now I have to wait 2 weeks instead of 3. They said sometimes it works out or could possibly be something genetically wrong with the baby :-/ so two more weeks of torture it is...if this pregnancy doesn't work out I really think I'm going to need some counseling, I feel like infertility has made me so sad all the time :( not even sure if I could bring myself to go through it again, but the thought of not having another child makes me very sad as well.

I would try your RE office again.. Is there another dr in the practice to speak to? Mine always allowed me to come in when I was feeling anxious & kept me on as a patient till 9 weeks as I saw my ob at 10 weeks. 2-3 weeks is too long fot you to feel this way IMO

An RE's job is not just to get you pregnant. They're supposed to be emotionally supportive regardless of the outcome. Same goes for an OB. This would not be ok with me.

Is he effing SERIOUS???? That was her response? That would NOT be ok with me. At all. How about showing a little compassion and support? Can you talk to your nurse? See what she recommends? I would push for another ultrasound before the 3 week mark. I am so angry for you. Praying everything works out!!!!

Thank you everyone for understanding. I'm just trying not to think about it. when I spoke with my ob yesterday they said it needs to be at least 2 weeks after last one, unfortunately I'm away that week and then get back July 4th so I'm going July 7thfor scan and to see dr. It's only like 5 days before my previous scan but at least it's a little closer.

I understand very much so. If this does not work out (and praying for you that it does) you can do it again, you can. I can't believe how much I have gone through when I look back, how much I have preserveered to have my one child (and hoping for another one).Again, that who will only come from me busting my ass to make it happen. But I wasn't ready to give up on my dream, no matter how many times I am knocked down.I'm sorry this is so tough. None of us deserve this pain. I will pray for an amazing update from you.

How frustrating. I can't imagine their reason for why the scan needs to be 2 weeks later. When I was working with my RE I had scans every 3-4 days until 8 weeks. this was his recommendation not mine.
Even with my current pregnancy I had an appointment where everything looked great. 2 days later I started light pink bleeding and when I called they told me to come right in for a sono. I had an appointment 3 hours later.
