That is SO CRAZY!!! My DD had strep back in January and she had what I thought was a blister that peeled off her toe at that time too...
Glad it turned out to be something manageable!

Yikes! So glad you caught it. Untreated strep can cause serious complications!

I know...Strep is the strangest virus.
The Pediatrician called strep "The Great Mimicker".
He said it can present in so many ways. A sunburn-like rash on the belly; headache; body aches; sore throat, vomitting...and yes...blisters/ peeling and the fingers and toes.
So strange!
So, that's one mystery solved. Now we just wait for the biopsy results!

Im shocked!!
AJ's toes have been seriously peeling...
It looked like the skin was ‘lifted’ kinda like a blister. All of her toes. The skin is nearly falling off. Everytime I pull off her sock flakes of skin come off or are left hanging on her toes. I asked my Ped and she just said it was dry skin, don’t change detergents, use aquafor. But then again, AJ’s belly and legs were also nearly sandpaper rough. 
Since then, the belly and legs have gotten better (as if with the weather here) but her toes.. ugh!
Now I wonder....
ETA: and the pressure points on her hands had blisters too but those finally went away.

I don't think everytime your child's fingers/ toes peel it is a sign of strep. But in my own son's case...he NEVER had peeling fingers before. EVER! And he's 8 years old! In his case, the doctor said it was definitely the strep breaking through. He actually didn't even start to "feel" sick until today...so weird how this virus can be!

I'm so sorry he's not feeling well. My almost 3 year old had strep earlier this week with a rash. Turned out it was Scarlet Fever, which his doctor said is basically strep with a rash. He was put on an antibiotic right away and the rash has gone away. He did tell us that untreated, it could have resulted in his skin peeling. My friend went through something with her son when the diagnosis was missed.
