Update on us- PICTURES ON PAGE 2
Not sure if anyone here remembers, it's been awhile. In February 2016, we almost lost our then 5 month old daughter from complications from the flu and rsv. I posted nearly every day (was a regular poster back then) with updates and I had so much support from everyone here. Since it's been awhile, and I don't feel like heading to bed right now lol, I figured I'd post an update. Here's the Original thread.
Lila is now 2 years old! 25 months to be exact. This kid is amazing. She has officially been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy- dyskinetic quadrapareisis. She cannot sit, roll over, stand, or walk, without assistance. She is also nonverbal. Very recently, Lila communicating more- she can nod and mouth the word yes, tries to say hi, and says a-dah for dada. She uses her eyes, head, and if she can, her hands/arms to identify objects or people. She's so smart! We (family and therapists) believe she is only slightly cognitively delayed and a lot of it has to do with her significant motor function delays/CP in that her physical limitations prohibit her from showing her true cognitive abilities. But damn, does she work hard! She has therapy almost every day and recently began attending an EI program at the Children's Center at UCP in commack. Her teachers rave about how well she's doing. I'm so proud! She's such a happy, smart, motivated little girl. Oh, and she looooves to eat! She gets so mad when someone is eating near her and will throw a fit until she gets some. Unfortunately because of her CP, she is still on baby food and drinks toddler formula from a bottle. She recently started eating puffs and of course we give her tastes of table food as long as it's soft and small- ice cream, mashed potatoes, yogurt, etc.

Thanks for the update. We have a girl the same age and flu went throughout home last year at the same time... I remember your posts clearly.
I'm so happy she's a fighter and making such progress!

I think about you guys often, my DS is a few weeks younger than Lila and I remember your story well. It sounds like Lila is such a smart and STRONG girl! I'm so happy that she is doing well. Sending lots of love to your family.
