UPDATE: Please Please Pray for my little girls...I've been in the hospital since Thurs...UPDATE TODAY'S DOC APPT
So Thurs went to my OB for a regular 31 week appt. And I told my doc about my increased BH contractions. I had my growth sono and then got put on machines for monitoring. It turned out I was contracting a lot more than the doc liked so he sent me to L&D at Winthrop to be safe. I felt the tightening but no pain so thought very little of it.
I got to the hospital they put me on the monitors right away took urine and blood. It turns out that I developed a NASTY UTI and was having strong contractions (no pain, just tight) every 12 to 13 minutes. The UTI set off the contractions but they couldnt get them to stop and slowly they started coming stronger and harder (based on the numbers still no real pain for me). However as the contractions got stronger I started to feel pressure on my stitches from my cerclage and baby A's head is right on the stches putting more pressure and shortening my cervix. Apparently I am about 75% effaced but not dilating yet ( thanks to those stitches)
Needless to say I was admitted and the next 12 hours were touch and go. The contractions were getting close together and not responding to the meds at all. It got to the point Fri. Morn that we thought the babies were coming. The head of the NICU came to talk to me, the high risk docs, my doc and the anestheseologist. Just to be prepared. My contractions at this point were 7 minutes apart. And my doc and the perinatologist were debating on removing the stitches so that the pressure from baby A and the contractions dont rip my cervix.
After 4 internal painful exams my doc decided not to remove them beacause removing them would have def brought the babies and we r trying our best to keep them in there as long as possible.
After that decision was made, suddenly, something started to work. The antibiotics for the uti ? the meds to slow the contractions? both together ?..I don't knkw but suddenly the contractions started to slow down big time. Thank God
I was in L&D until this after noon and then I got transfered to the maternity ward and still being monitored and taking meds for the contractions and the UTI. I'm still having contractions but they have spread to about 30-45 minutes apart and still managing to keep these babies girls in there a little bit more. My docs will decide where I will be on bed rest come Monday.I dont know if they send me home but I hope not. I feel so much safer here in the hospital.
Right now we are taking everything one day at a time and every day praying for another day.
Please send some prayers to my little girlies in there.

Update: 4-18-11
Thank you ladies for all your prayers.. They mean so much to me and I think they helped.
So I'm home with the babies still in my belly and the girls are me are doing well.
So far things have been somewhat stable and Im on meds to keep the contractions under control and in 3 days my cervix stayed the same.
No change is a good thing and I will be monitored in my docs office probably twice a week. In the meantime, I am on strict bedrest. Only up to use the bathroom and take a shower and back to bed. Im allowed to get up and get myself some water and food but nothing more than that.
Its so crazy that I went in for a routine exam and then ended up spending 4 nights in the hospital and Friday morning they were almost sure these babies were coming. Scary but at least for now we are out of the woods.
Thank you ladies again for all the payers and good wishes for me and my little girlies who are in a rush to come out and play.
Update: 4-21
I went to the doc today and it look slike for now Im in the clear. My cervix went back up to 2cm while resting but when pressure is applied my uterus come and sits on my stitches. Since im on bedrest though and laying down most of the day the doc for for sees me making it all the way to 34 weeks.
If I make it to 34 weeks they will stop me from the meds that im on to control the contractions and most likely take out my stitches and let nature take its course. I'm 32 week tomorrow so 2 more weeks shouldn't be too bad.
Im so happy that things looks good and the babies will get to spend more time in my belly. Every day in-utero is 3 days less in the NICU

you and your girls are in my thoughts and prayers....trust me when i say you are in great hands...i know what u are going through right now but try to stay calm and know that you are exactly where you need to be and the NICU at Winthrop is amazing...if you need someone to talk to please feel free to FM me and i'll give u my cell phone number...I had Ollie at 31weeks at Winthrop and can answer probably any question you have regarding preemies and the NICU....stay strong

Thinking of you and the babies and hoping they decide to stay inside and cook a little longer.

Lots of prayers for you and the babies. Hopefully the meds have kicked in and you'll be able to just be on bed rest and have a few more weeks of cooking time.
