thank god!! glad she is feeling better. but why was the doc going to send her for a spinal tap. a 100.8 fever is not very high. my 8 week old had a fever of 102 and a spinal tap was never ever mentioned. i was just wondering. so glad it all worked out. Chat Icon



Because it was an underarm reading she thought her actual temp was 101.8. AND I think 8 weeks is the cutoff for automatic trip to the ER if there is a high fever - not sure why, but she said that was why they give the DTAP vaccine at 8 weeks - b/c a side effect of DTAP is a fever and they don't want to have to rush her to the ER if she gets that particular side effect. I think it has to do with the development of her circulatory system or something like that.
