They really don't have a choice if he is having that many accidents. It becomes a sanitary issue. I know it sucks but they really have no choice.

Re: upset at daycare- putting my potty training son back in pull ups
Is he in a potty trained classroom or a potty training classroom???
From my experience, parents often say their children are trained, and in reality its the parents who are trained (ie- the child has no idea they need to go- but the parents know their schedule and catch them before the child has accidents)
I'm not sure if this is why, but if your child is showing them no signs of being potty trained, you cant expect them to keep him in underwear. Every time he has an accident they have to stop what they are doing to change him- that's not fair to the rest of the class...(not sure if this is whats happening- it's a completely differently story if this is a once in a blue moon occurrence)
In daycare- the teachers/staff have to do whats right for the majority of the class.

Re: upset at daycare- putting my potty training son back in pull ups
I wanted to add- they did keep him in underwear like you requested- they didnt put him in a pull up until after he had not one but TWO accidents...
So it seems they are attempting to do what you wish.

Re: upset at daycare- putting my potty training son back in pull ups
the class he is in has some kids trained and some not Im still paying the price to have them do the diaper changes- HE only peed not pooped. When I chose this daycare they told me that they were going to be working on training him. he has never once gone potty for them and he ALWAYS goes for me- what gives!!!! This has been going on for a year with the pull ups- I dont think pull ups are good for training he is 3.3 months old HE tells me when he has to go at home. Why should I put him back in pull ups. I mean if its pee what the heck is the difference if they are changing undewear or a pull up. Plus Im still paying the full price for an fully unpotty trained kid- he is about 75 % there....
eta- I stayed home with him for 4 days to cold turkey he did awesome by the 2 day he was telling me when he had to go - I cant see putting him back in diapers doesnt it send a mixed message. So why because im a working my and have to leave my child in daycare can he not continue this successful method of potty training?

Re: upset at daycare- putting my potty training son back in pull ups
I totally see why you are upset...
The only difference about the changing is- a diaper change is one thing, someone who has peed through their clothes and onto the carpet/floor- takes a lot more cleaning up.
I think the underwear vs. pull ups does send mixed messages, so I totally get your frustration!
Can you ask them to put him on the potty every half an hour???
If he is still having accidents that Im not sure what else their is to do...
Like I said before every time they have to stop to change his clothing, wipe up the mess, its time the rest of the class is missing out on learning... KWIM?
