Gabi I am so sorry you have to deal with more upsetting news. Reilly is in our thoughts and prayers. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. If you wanna BS on Wednesday while you are waiting, you know the number.
Reilly is in our prayers! My 7 year old niece had this happen when she was just a few weeks old. Her head was growing at a faster rate than normal, so they sent her right away to a neurologist & it did turn out that she was hydrocephalic. She had surgery to insert a shunt at 6 weeks old. Thank God that they did catch it right away b/c it didn't do any permanent damage. She just had a revision 2 years ago b/c the shunt was blocked and today she is a completey normal child with no issues whatsoever!
I do pray that your DC is okay.
Keep us posted....just think of it like this better to be safe & check it out now. Lots of
This happened to my best friend (Dottiemchugh) with BOTH of her kids. Her Pediatrician told her that both her DS and her DD had larger heads and they needed to go in for CAT scans (I think it was a CAT...could've been an MRI). Turns out that both of her kids just have big heads. This also happened to DH's cousin with her DS. They used to have to cut the holes in his shirts bigger so she could get his shirts on!!! They did all sorts of testing and it turns out that he just has a big head.
Try not to freak out until they can tell you for sure. There is a good chance that the dr. measured wrong...or maybe she just has a bigger head for now. She will grow into it!
