vacuum for area rugs/wood floors
can anyone give me vacuum recommendations?
we used to have the hoover flair when it was just the hardwood (no rugs) and it burned out after about 6 months.
now we have the eureka quick ups cordless, and it stinks for a bunch of reasons.
the cleaning instructions that came with the area rugs (tufted wool) said not to use a heavy duty vacuum on them. i guess it could rip them up? so we're afraid to get a dyson or something like that.
i also hate sweeping, which is why we were buying the stick vacs that we can use on the wood floors.

We have an Oreck, and we use it on I for the wood floors and II for rugs. It works well!

someone on here had posted that they liked this one, so I bought it.. I like it too  It goes from wood to area rug. I also have a much heavier vacuum for when I really need to vacuum the rugs. I wanted a second so I would have to lug the heavy one up & down stairs

I have a miele canister. My house is all hardwood with some area rugs.
6+ years and going strong.
