VBAC moms - how many of you are out there?
I am driving myself CRAZY trying to decide whether or not to go ahead with my scheduled c-section, because I REALLY REALLY want to go natural, but I am SCARED of the uterine rupture risk.
My dr. basically told me that me or my baby could die from a VBAC and that a c-section is more controllable and predictable than a natural birth....
So now that my c-sect date is getting closer (aug 7th) I am starting to 2nd guess my decision and am SERIOUSLY pondering having a VBAC.
Anyone out there have one? How did it go? How did you decide???
I am a coward but want to do what is best for my baby. I also have a 23 month old DD now and am thinking a natural birth would be easier when dealing with a toddler as far as recovery, etc.
Thanks in advance for any advice, ladies!

Re: VBAC moms - how many of you are out there?
I had a VBAC in April. There are risks to VBAC, but there are risks to c-sections too. I basically knew I would attempt a VBAC with my second while I was being wheeled into the OR the first time. I researched it while I was TTC & felt completely comfortable with the small risks of a VBAC. I saw The Stonybrook Midwives who were completely supportive of my decision to VBAC.
I am 1000000% happy with my decision. It was a wonderful experience & I cannot stress enough how much easier the recovery was with the VBAC. Is it possible for you to switch care providers? You have a much better chance of success with a supportive doctor or midwife.
If you have any questions, feel free to FM me!

I really really really want to try for a VBAC but Im petrified that Im going to die and leave my children motherless. Im going to continue to speak to my OB about it and see how I progress. If they see no reason for me to go for it, then I most likely will.

Re: VBAC moms - how many of you are out there?
for me personally, I would never attempt a VBAC, not worth the risk
I had a great c-section with #1 and am doing a scheduled c section for this baby
good luck with whatever you decide

Re: VBAC moms - how many of you are out there?
My BFF attempted a VBAC in April and ended up with an emergency section and she also tore all of her AB muscles.
She said she wished that her OB pushed the repeat section on her...

Re: VBAC moms - how many of you are out there?
I really wanted a VBAC too but my OB put it to me like this, The chance of uterine rupture is only about 2%, but do you want to take a 2% chance with death for you and your baby? I know it was harsh, but I would rather him be brutally honest than the alternative. In the end I had a huge baby and I would have had a c/s anyway wether I liked it or not.
