Those who are complaining- what would you be complaining about at the end of the work day when driving conditions are treacherous? Be happy you don't have to risk you or your childrens' lives trying to get around in this.

Such a silly thing to get up in arms about. Enjoy your snow day home with your kids.

I totally agree with you!

Maybe the OP was just venting? I mean, sheesh. I don't know her to be an insensitive person who doesn't care about anyone's safety. She's allowed to be annoyed by schools closing.
Do I agree with everyone else that schools needed to be closed for the safety of the children and the teachers? Of course, but I also understand when it is an inconvenience for people. You can be annoyed about it, it doesn't mean you don't care about other people. That's all I'm saying, ya know?

I agree.

I'm just annoyed that Bloomberg closed the NYC schools- so DD's daycare is closed. We really have no one to watch her, so I have to take a day off.

And if it snowed, it be one thing.

But there is barely an inch on the ground. I know its "supposed" to get bad later, but we were also "supposed" to get 18 inches last night. And if it is really bad tomorrow, and the schools are closed again, then I'll have to be home again.

Now I have to make up my hours at work- and I look like a wimp for not coming into work since I'm the one closest to the office.

Sorry you had to take a day off, but I think he absolutely made the right call. My sister is a teacher in the South Bronx, as are two of my aunts. My sister lives in Long Beach, and my other two aunts in Upper Westchester County! For once, Bloomberg took the teachers commute into consideration! I know it can be a hastle for parents as well, but it's not wise for anyone to go into work today if it's not absolutely necessary! My own safety would come first!!!

Seriously are ya kidding me with this post???? You did have a days notice to set up something for your child. Its a shame you had to take the day off but your child DOES come first. First off you should be happy your child is home safe with you and not stuck on some school bus or stuck in the school for that matter. Secondly you should be happy you have a job and you are able to make up the hours ....so what you had to use a sick day your child should come first !!!!!!

OK I am done..........

Finally, he made a smart decision. Not only is it dangerous to have all the kids traveling to and from school, but the teachers, many of whom don't live in the 5 boroughs, also would have had to make the very dangerous commute.

Thank you, I come from exit 64! Come on now, really...this post ****** me off:)

Ok, not for nothing, but how rude are you? How uncalled for was your response? Do you verbally b-tch slap everyone who complains about something that affects their lives? Unreal.

condescending too and the OP is NOT one to start drama, I do not think I have ever seen her even "play" in a drama post...you are so out of line with your choice of words, it is not even funny

****NEWS FLASH*****

WHOA. Totally inappropriate and uncalled for - and for the record, I know Michelle personally, and she is TRULY one of the sweetest, most thoughtful, appreciative, genuine, caring people I've known, and she is completely devoted to her daughter. It's a vent, that's all... let her be Chat Icon

OMG... how out of control is this?

It's one thing to express why you don't agree with someone who post about the weather but really people. This is just insane!
