I agree. I know for many people the vaccine is "safe" But there are issues out there with the vaccine. A 39 year old British model just died from a massive stroke 2 days after receiving the vaccine. Vaccines can do harm we just don't get that information from the news. Not all bodies are created equal and some react differently to drugs, food ect... so to say that the vaccine is safe is not entirely true. For those that choose to wait should not be punished for their choice.
Should probably clarify that this is the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is currently not approved for use in the USA.
Not saying that people shouldn't be aware of what's going on elsewhere, but let's not add to people's vaccine hesitancy by way of omission.
Yes but Johnson and Johnson was put on hold because it was linked to blood clots.
Also there was a story of a boy in Utah Hospitalized with blood clots after receiving the Vaccine
I guess until some people have these things affect them after the vaccine, they will push it aside like it is no big deal. It can happen just like some here were masked all the time in public and still got Covid.

Again, please go educate yourself on how clinical trials work and how new medicines and vaccines get to market. While you're at it, please research statistical significance and sample size so that you can finally understand why a single case here or there simply doesn't matter when we're talking about the safety of ANY medication on the WHOLE.
Your comments AGAIN show that you simply don't understand how any of this works.

Are people really that concerned with the Boardy Barn??
I think there may be other things to worry about.
It's just ironic that a place of that nature is requiring it.
I just read he offering a college tuition raffle incentive for those 12-17 getting the vaccine.
Yup it is disgusting how low they are stooping to have people take this vaccine. He truly wants full control of everyone.
You do know other states are doing the exact same thing, right? And many other incentives in other states too. NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO GET THE VACCINE - so how does that equate to control??? (Rhetorical question - please do not answer)
Yes democratic states it seems but Coumo wants to take the title of having everyone in his state vaccinated. It is absolute control if more and more things are only for vaccinated people as they get pressure put upon them to do so.
People will sell their soul to the nearest bidder and they know it, it is sad.
Apparently you fail to realize that the STATE (ie Cuomo) has absolutely ZERO control over what PRIVATE business decide to do when it comes to vaccine status.
So much is political if you don’t realize that by now.
Yes, PRIVATE business owners (just like most others) have political views, I'm sure. But I am also sure they are making business decisions based on what they see as being best for their business. That is their motivation. The decision to only permit those who are vaccinated is a business decision, not a political one
We have a private business and made the decision as a group to unlock our door and allow all customers, vaccinated or not, to come in with or without a mask. All employees will remain in masks for added safety. We haven’t had anyone call out sick once since everyone’s in masks (well, other than when DH and I got Covid in January but nobody there got it from us = masks) we went back and forth for a while to whether or not we’d require masks to enter. We are vaccinated. Not everyone is. so we decided as a group , taking the thoughts of the unvaccinated people into consideration and made our choice.

What happened to not being selfish and caring about others? These cases surely matter to the person and their families.
Hard to speak to someone who comes at others who they consider only caring about themselves regarding Covid but then get it after claiming they did the right thing 100% of the time.

That is a wonderful thing you have done as I have mentioned not all CAN get the vaccine and these people are being limited the most to things they truly might want to do and can’t.

What does this have to do with caring about others? This is basic science and stats. Is it terrible that anyone would have a reaction? Of course. But random, one off cases like that statistically don't matter when we're talking about the overall safety of a vaccine.
The rest of your comment is too stupid to even respond to.

I was at a restaurant we frequent last night and the manager came over to chat like he always does. We asked him how business was, he said better . I mentioned how there seemed to be a lot of empty space in the place and couldn't they have more capacity now? He said yes but 65% capacity is impossible with 6 foot distancing. He said technically they could be 3ft apart if people were vaccinated so they had decided to have a vaccinated seating area and a none vaccinated area. This way they could have more capacity. The kicker...they weren't going to ask for proof...honor system like the masks. He said the backlash they got ended them up on News12 and CBS news. People were freaking out on social media, calling the restaurant, saying it was discrimination etc. He said it was so bad they decided to just forget about it. So it seems, requiring vaccines or separating people by vaccine status, can actually be a bad business decision.

J&J and AstraZeneca use the same technology. Pfizer/BioNtech and Moderna use mRNA.

Wow that is just crazy. The 6 feet needs to go away so these businesses can flourish. I can tell you that the place I went to last weekend was not 6 feet as I have eaten there before and the tables were all the same. I think these businesses will eventually see that they will lose money by not allowing people who are not vaccinated as only half the population who can get it, has it.

Re: Venues in NY can operate at 100% capacity..
Here is one business that will charge if you DO wear masks:
Diners are mostly free to speak their mind at a Northern California cafe, but doing so through the protective confines of a mask will cost a cover charge of $5.
Fiddlehead's Cafe in Mendocino on Sunday put up a sign announcing the fee for customers who wear masks while ordering. In March, the cafe announced an ongoing 50 percent discount for those who throw their face coverings in the trash, said owner Chris Castleman, 34.
"I don't think $5 to charity is too much to ask from mask wearing customers who claim to care so much about the community they live in," he said by email.
Proceeds will go to Project Sanctuary, a local domestic abuse organization, for two weeks before a new nonprofit enters the rotation, Castleman said. (Project Sanctuary did not immediately respond to a request for comment).
"It's about time that the proponents of these ineffective government measures start paying for the collateral damage they have collectively caused," the owner said.
Fiddleheads Cafe in Mendocino not only discourages wearing masks but also charges a penalty. The restaurant also planned to charge an additional $5 fee to those "caught bragging" about being vaccinated, according to a couple of the posted signs.
But Castleman said in a phone interview, "I don't force anyone to pay, I give them the freedom of choice, which seems to be a foreign concept in these parts of the country."
In June 2020, Castleman temporarily closed the cafe 200 miles northwest of Sacramento after Mendocino County officials warned that masks weren't optional at restaurants during the pandemic. "The government shut everything down," he said Friday. "Everyone wearing a mask is complicit."
He abided by temporary mandates requiring curbside service only, but requiring masks for servers and other workers, he's argued, is too much.
"I don't believe in mask wearing," Castleman said. "Our customer base has been strongly aligned with our beliefs, but I think some are really angry at our cafe."
"It's their choice," he continued, "they can choose what business they support. They can go to any other business in my county, state."

Based on those comments, he sounds like a Republican idiot.

Once again that is why this country will always be divided. Maybe look at it as the glass is full by where he is donating the money to as it is not going into his pocket.

I don't care if he was sending the money to orphans in another country. Guy seems like a loser. I read that he also charges money if he hears you talking about getting the vaccine. Complete jackass. If he loses his business, he had it coming.

Sigh, just like businesses never required you can only come in to them with a vaccine. You wouldn’t like it if a place required you pay more than an unvaccinated person.

All that proves is there are a lot of morons in this country. The point is the mask is for safety. I looked at this idiot's website. He thinks the pandemic is fake. This isn't about believing in the vaccine or not. If you believe this pandemic was fake you deserve any negative thing that happens to your business and livelihood.

Of course she sees no value in either, she hasn't a clue about science or medicine so naturally she'd applaud this idiot and post his story like he's doing the world a favor. The level of stupidity is in this country is astounding.

Yes it was in the article I posted above.
Funny as no one likes it when it is the opposite way.
Nobody adds money to your bill for not wearing a mask. Enough already. You are so clueless.
Sigh, just like businesses never required you can only come in to them with a vaccine. You wouldn’t like it if a place required you pay more than an unvaccinated person.
If you don’t see the value that masks and the vaccine have provided to the entire world then there is seriously something deeply wrong with you. Anyone who has a problem with masks during a global pandemic, or a vaccine that is helping to end it, is an absolute moron
Sounds like he had many behind him as he got over $4,000 for the Gofundme.
$4000???? You think that’s a sign of tremendous support for this idiot???
Even if you don’t want to get the vaccine, how can you possibly deny the good it has done for the world? Instead of all the insane arguing, why not be grateful for those who created it and those who have chosen to get it - so that you and everyone else can get back to living a normal life. Oh....wait....you continued to live a normal life even during the shut down, didn’t you?

Re: Venues in NY can operate at 100% capacity..
So I am currently in south Jersey and there is a wedding going on at the hotel I'm in. I have a view of the reception area from my room. There are no less than 200 people PACKED in there...and I mean packed in there. The room definitely seems tight for that many guests. I think it's a cocktail hour. All mingling, no masks. I find it hard to believe all those people are vaccinated but who knows. However, it is very strange to see a large gathering of people, with no distancing again. I feel like I am in bizzaro world. I mean it's just a regular wedding like you've seen 1000 times. But it seems surreal after these past 14 months.
