Waking Up Hysterically Crying - Second Night in a Row

Night terrors? Teething? He also has a runny nose and cough. We've been going into him but at the same time, I don't want to create a monster. 15 months old.
What to do...

Update - so I took Jordan in this afternoon. No ear infection. He thinks he prob developed a virus because fever lasted longer that typical after his shots last week. Said it could be night terrors or teething and that he's getting a molar. He wants us to wait it out right now and check back with him.

Hmmm...He had his 15 month appt last week and all was fine. I was going to call the ped about other stuff but he's not pulling on his ears at all and acting normal during the day.Chat Icon

Georgie did that a few times a few weeks ago. He was cutting his top teeth. I felt bad for him so I brought him in bed with me. Chat Icon

My kids never show signs of ear infections. They do scream when they have to lie down and haven't had any pain medication. If it weren't for that, I'd never know they were sick

Re: Waking Up Hysterically Crying - Second Night in a Row

We have had the same thing happening to us & last week I took DS to the Ped bc he only wakes in the middle of the night if he has an ear infection. He indeed had fluid on his ear but the Ped felt it was from the previous one he had (stopped antibotics on 4/17). He prescribed him another to get the fluid out & we had 4 good nights. Last night, DS woke screaming at 1am & I went in & changed him (in fear of a dirty diaper) but then he refused to go back into his crib. We brought him into our bed & it took him a good 1.5 hours to go back to sleep, he was extremely restless. I think he is cutting his 2 yr molars though

My DD did that when she had an ear infection.
Sometimes they show no other signs- not even a fever.

Could be teething too though.

I'd get the ears checked though just to be sure.

Thanks, ladies. Was going to call the ped today about some other things so I'll mention this and see if he wants to see him.

I called the ped's office to leave a message and when the nurse heard the symptoms she said to bring him in. So, off we'll go this afternoon! Today was the only day this week we weren't running around somewhereChat Icon
