Was anyone's sonogram wrong as far as gender?
Just wondering if anyone was told one gender at the ultrasound and then found out later that you were having the opposite?
If so....how far along were you at the ultrasound and which gender were you told?
Thanks!

I think it's pretty rare as long as the sono is done by a trained tech and you are at least 20 weeks along. All the mistakes I have heard about have been from people being told the gender before 16 weeks.

My friend thought she was having a boy until her 36 week appointment. Apparently, the technician mistook the thumb for the penis.

I have a friend that was also told girl at THREE sono's . Had a pink and purple shower and finished the room down to wall letters that said Madison. Well she gave birth and it was a BOY Shocked is an understatement, this was about 6-7 years ago.

Re: Was anyone's sonogram wrong as far as gender?
My best friend was told at 18 weeks she was having a boy. I guess they never checked again. We had a blue shower for her, room painted blue, boy bedding all ready and when I got the call from her DH I asked "What's his name?" and he said "It's a girl." I totally didn't believe him but it was true. This was only 4 years ago.

Thanks ladies. I guess it does happen although not too often. I had my sono at 18 weeks and was told it was a boy. I am thrilled to have another boy but my mommy instinct has always thought it was a girl. Not sure if I will be getting any more sonograms so I guess I will just have to wait until February.
