Mine was a little under $500, and I wish I had chosen something different, but not because of the cost.
I didn't hate the dress, but really wanted something simple and should have gone with a white bridesmaid dress. I was afraid I woudn't get something in time, so I got talked into the bridal gown with the train that I didn't really want.
I actually wanted simple as well and had them cut off the train that was on my gown........
Mine was an Alfred angelo too

Re: Was it worth it? Wedding Related
My dress was a little over $3000. When I first put on the dress I felt magical but that faded by the time the wedding rolled around. I regret spending so much and it would be one of the few things I would change about the wedding.
It's a beautiful dress but for me it was a waste to spend so much on a dress that was going to spend the rest of it's life in a box. I did end up donating it to Sheltering Arms and hopefully they were able to sell it for a decent amount to help some kids.

Re: Was it worth it? Wedding Related
My dress cost a little over the average, compared to other brides I spoke to. It was worth every penny because it was very "me." I would have spent another $1,000-$1,500 if I had to but I am not sure if I would have gone above that.

Re: Was it worth it? Wedding Related
i hated the original dress i ordered ( it looked nothing like the catalog photo when it came in) and i lost the $500 deposit when i decided i just couldnt live with something i thought was hideous. i ended up with something custom made it cost $3,000. my only regret was not going right to the custom made one since i knew that is what i really wanted. trying to settle for the cheaper dress ended up costing me more in the end. i dont know what you consider expensive. so i didnt know what to answer on your poll. it was more than what i wanted to spend originally, but for all leather handmade, i think i got a great deal.

I spent $800 on my dress, but as soon as I put it on I knew it was me. I had been looking and didn't even buy it right away, but I went back a week later and just bought it. Nothing else looked the same.

I didn't spend a lot on my dress ($925 with alterations) & I LOVED my dress & still do! I could not justify buying something more expensive & wearing it for one day & then putting it in a box.
I was fortunate enough to have my mom pay for my gown & she told me to get what made me happy, but I was so thrilled with my choice! Everytime I look at it or the pictures, I still get the same feeling

My dress was only $1000 with alterations etc. I love my dress until the bustle was done then I didnt like as much, and then it was to late to change the bustle.

Honestly, I really did love my dress and it wasn't that expensive (if $1500 isn't that expensive). BUT, there was this one dress that I saw that I completely and totally fell in love with. It was Italian silk and incredible, but it was $4k, so I decided I can't spend that kind of money on a dress. I sort of regret it, but really, does it matter all that much? My dress looked great in the pictures and I really did like it, I just keep thinking about that other damn dress, though!

i didnt "love " my dress
i liked it
but i see other dresses and
my mom bought it for me so i didnt want to rob her out of her bank account with a very expensive dress ...at the aem timne i dont think money is the issue- i should have tried more dresses on
I feel the same... I liked my dress in person, but I feel that in pics it was somewhat blah.
I think I should've looked further in the same price range and I would've found something I truly loved.

Aw, it's fun to think about dresses again!
I loved my dress. It was the first piece of clothing I owned that was custom tailored to fit me, and as a vertically challenged woman with a thin waist and wide hips (read: hard to find a good fit for), the tailoring made all the difference.
The dress itself was relatively inexpensive -- a Demetrios that happened to be on sale. My mother bought it for me. We had so much fun trying things on that day, so whenever I see the dress, I actually think of my mom first! She was so excited about the whole thing!

I loved my dress and I spent a lot on it. I don't regret it at all. I spent about 8 months shopping for the perfect dress and nothing jumped out at me. I didn't want to wear something that I didn't love. As soon as I saw this dress, I knew I had to have it.
No one but my hubby knows how much I spent on it. I'm from the Midwest and most of my family/friends would've balked at the price. I bought it for me and it was meant to be mine.

Re: Was it worth it? Wedding Related
I paid a lot of $$ for my dress, and loved it, and still do. I don't regret it. I truly felt so glamorous and princess-y on my wedding day. My Mom and Grandmother paid for it. I had planned on paying for it, but they offered and were ok with the price.
I'm sure I could have found a less expensive dress that I loved, but, I figured, I'd never be able to spend that much $$ on a dress again, so why not go for it.
I still put it on every so often....it really needs to be cleaned!

This was hard to answer bc I'm not sure what is considered expensive. My dress wasn't inexpensive, but it also wasn't as much as some other brides I know. I chose between my dress and one about half the price. I LOVED my dress and still do. I love the way I looked, I love the compliments I got, and I love looking at my pics. I do not regret it one bit. I can't imagine wearing anything else that day!

Re: Was it worth it? Wedding Related
I tried on a GORGEOUS dress at Bridal Reflections. I mean this thing was beautiful. I wanted it sooo bad. Then the lady tells me that it was $3,000.
I almost dropped dead after hearing that. We, since my mother was paying for the dress..I casually told her about this dress and she told me to keep looking. I finally found a gorgeous dress at Lillette's and spent $1,300 w/alterations. So much better.
I really loved the other dress but come on...you have to be reasonable...you wear the dress for a day.

Re: Was it worth it? Wedding Related
I knew that I wasn't spending more than $1500 when I started shopping. Once I got out there and looked around, I saw just how many gorgeous dresses there were for incredibly reasonable prices. When I found my dress everything about it was right...including the price. I think with alterations, it came to somewhere between $1000-$1200. I loved it and still do! I got so many compliments on it. I even had guests from someone elses wedding coming up to me to pay compliments
