Re: We all missed the boat. This is the best wedding procession ever.

Chat Icon That was fun. And a good lesson for ME.

When it first started, I thought "this is really stupid." Then when I decided to see it from another perspective, I thought "this is AWESOME."

Too often it is extremely difficult to get a bridal party to cooperate and agree over even the smallest of details. I think this must be a fun group of people who all must really love the bride and groom very much.

From all appearances, there was a lot more love in that room than I've seen at a lot of the most "reserved" church ceremonies.

It looked like the bride didn't have anyone walk her down the aisle. Maybe she lost her mother and father, and for her not to break down walking down the aisle that was a way to keep her mind off of it......I am sure there was some kind of reason behind it....

i thought the same thing!! maybe she lost 1 or both parents, and this was a way to keep it upbeat and keep herself from breaking down or getting sad...

i thought it was great!! i was also really surprised that a church let them do it... but it was fun! Chat Icon

I thought it was fantastic and I consider my self somewhat religious. What is so inappropriate about it? The song wasn't bad. They were just dancing having a good time!! Parishoners dance in churches in a lot of religions. People need to lighten up!!! What did God say don't have fun in my church or don't dance? I don't think so!!

That was hysterical!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure everyone in the church that day remembered their wedding procession!

I thought it was cute and would have been a great entrance for the reception, but definitely not appropriate for a church wedding IMO. I have been to many church services when there were praise dancers or people dancing when they are overcome with the spirit.

We had a secular song in our cereomony procession but it was a ballad and I had to print the lyrics for the pastor to read before she approved it for use in the church.

i didn't hear the music... am at work

i thought it was cute... but a bit anti-climactic with the bride... she's a main player, but her "dance" paled by comparison to everything we saw before her

YES!! i thought that too. If she were going to do it, it should have been her. like have a totally serious BP entrance and then she should have rocked it.

I think its great.

OBVIOUSLY, there had to be clearance from the church for them to do this.

I doubt they took it upon themselves to coordinate all of it without permission from the clergy.

Soooo glad I'm not the only one!!
I am somewhat religious as well.
I thought it was cute!
Some of me thought "this should be done at the reception", but, as I watched I was laughing and then when she came down, I had tears in my eyes.
I even linked it to my cousin on FB who recently got engaged. lol

Would a cartwheel or two have been too much?

I'm saying!!

I loved it, but I am an atheist...

FTR, I walked down the aisle by myself and my mom and dad are alive & I have relationships with them... I just chose to walk by myself.

I loved it - everyone seemed so happy. The slow motion thing at the end (before the bride) seemed a bit too "drama club" (and I'm a theatre geek) for me - but I loved it.

I thought it was really cute but agree that it was a little too crazy for Church. It would have been perfect for a ceremony held at the recption site.

I loved it! And it made me cry just thinking about how much love was in that room for those 2 people. What a fabulous way to celebrate a marriage!!

That was great but I had a hard enough time getting people to WALK and STAND correctly; there's no way we could've pulled something like that off!!! Chat Icon

must be me..b/c i think thats absurd. save it for the reception. but to each their own i guess..

you're not the only one. honestly, i watched it and thought it looked stupid. brides today will always look for a way to be "different" but this just seemed dumb to me.

i guess as long as they're happy...whatever. but not my cup of tea at all.

Honestly, I agree. I think it is a bit too much. It seems like they are trying too hard to be unique. Instead, it just looks silly to me.

I had no objection to it on a religious level.

When we were planning our wedding, my 'husband-to-be' always said "It's a wedding, not a circus" when the discussions of smashing cake in peoples faces, etc all came up.

I know I'm in the minority, but that's kind of how I feel about this.

I love itChat Icon and this is coming from a pastor's daughter. Some churchs can be strict but I think it shows that they have great personalities and are very creative. I loved it.

Re: We all missed the boat. This is the best wedding procession ever.

IMO, I thought it was disrespectful. All churches, regardless of denomination, are places of worship- they are not clubs. Even if this was a fun loving, enthusiastic couple- they should still have respect for other parishioners & the important role that the church plays in their lives.

I heart super routines!

I loved it. I love that the bridal party did it too.

My "i better not see any shoulders" priest would have kicked us out of the church.

I don't think they were dirty dancing or anything, just being happy on a happy day.
