We need a new PED! Please rec yours (LONG)
I am DONE with our PED. I am sick and tired of having to go back multiple times for the same thing when I KNOW something is wrong with my child. I understand a lot of dr not wanting to medicate a child. Fine. But when it's clear there is something wrong, write the damn script.
I took DS to the Ped yesterday. His eyes are red, not his normal Rd from being tired. I wanted to make sure it wasn't pink eye. Well, he said, oh it's not. Just keep an eye on it. Well guess who woke up with RED EYES this morning. Yep, the kid has the funk! So, now I have to go back, pay the $20 copay AGAIN. (not the money, but the principle). And then go get the RX whick I could have had yesterday and got a jump on this.
So, can you please rec your Ped in the Holbrook/Lake Ronkonkoma area?

Morning Jenn, First I want to say hope he feels better soon. Second, we go to Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine on Union Ave in Holbrook. 588-4442. So far I've liked all the dr's we've seen, but my favorite is Dr. Lafamina, she's wonderful.

aww poor baby, I hope he gets better.
I just like to give you a little advice...
Do a little bit of research before you go, and ask about specific meds, if they will work or not. Sometimes this kind of opens the road to conversation and helps to discover the problem, and more likely to give you the right script.
From experience, we know a lot of doctors, and a lot of them will just prescribe whatever you want (within reason or course), as long as you tell them "give me x". Its their job to service you.

I had to do the same thing for the same reason. One thing you can try is leaving a message on the nurses line saying you were there yesterday and now it has turned into pink eye and can they call in a scrip...Good luck. No ped advice since I don't live in NY

My DC's main ped is Dr.Reinitz (she will be out on maternity leave begining next week) but we have also seen Dr.Bennet, Dr. Manners and the NP...
Really like it there
