Definitely cash. Especially since our wedding - we saw how easy it was with the cash and with the checks it was such a pain!
Of course we appreciated both LOL

Checks - and after getting married - written out to either the bride OR the groom.
We recieved a combo of cash, checks and gifts for our wedding.

I used to give cash .. then one time I went to a wedding a left the envelope in the bathroom. Thankfully two very nice ladies found it and gave it in, but what if they would have just taken it? So now, checks only for me.

check.
I didn't care either way. I liked checks b/c I could keep better track of who gave us a gift...also getting checks MADE US put it away instead of having the urge to spend it.

i give checks. before we got married i would give a check from my checkbook and dh felt that was wrong and to give cash. after hearing that numerous acquaintances had cash stolen from their weddings, i convinced him that checks were the safest way to go.

i ALWAYS give a check. call me a pessimist, but I am worry that the card would get lost, or some waiter might take the cash out of the card, etc.
