Re: Weekend vacation help needed
Donna which room did you like at Ceasars?
The Garden of Eden Apples are very nice and the Lakeside Villas are nice and a little cheaper.

Re: Weekend vacation help needed
Newport is great and if you're willing to stay slightly outside of downtown, you can pay like $100/night.
This might sound crazy but I think it's fun - what about a dude ranch?? I just looked up Rocking Horse Ranch and it's all-inclusive (meals, horseback riding, room), about $340 for the entire weekend for both of you! It would be something totally different and definitely inexpensive.
If you're interested, Rocking Horse Ranch
Or, if you're feeling adventurous, hold off until next week and do one of the last minute deals on site59.com, priceline or expedia.

We stayed at Mount Airy Lodge in the 90's and it was pretty cheap! They are out of Business I complained so much the 1st time we went not only were we upgraded to a pretty nice room,we got a free weekend! Soon after they were gone

Re: Weekend vacation help needed
I wne tto Newport during peak season& we actually staye din a regualr old motel ( not bad, not fancy) in Middletown. IT's a 5 minute drive to Newprt & you can park in a visotr lot & wak around & visit teh mansons & even the cliff walk might be ncie ( but cold)in March. & you can also drive to Newport Winery. We did a fun tasting there.
Also, sometimes cities ( like Boston) have deals in the business hotels on the weekends or in the outskirts.
For our anniversary we went ot Bushkills Falls, PA. We stayed at teh Fernwood resorts. They upgraded us to a townhouse & only asked once if we wanted to buy a time share.

Re: Weekend vacation help needed
My husband and I did Boston for our anniversary and it was great. We stayed near the science museum at the Royal Sonesta and the hotel was amazing and cheap. The room was really nice, the pool was so pretty and it was a quick cab ride to most places in the city.
We had a nice romantic dinner at the North End one night and dinner by Harvard another night - it was perfect. I highly recommend it!

this is so confusing...
I forgot to mention ..NO B & B's...DH doesnt like them...He likes a lot of privacy...
Any Pocono's hotel/resort reccomendations I can check out besides Cesars?
Pocomont - its up near bushkill falls Fernwood - just south of that, has tubing across the street.
definitely look into these two and do your own research, i have never stayed there, just passed by both so i cant give you much info besides the names of the places.
