I love applesauce, apple pie, apple juice, apple cider...but I hate apples.
Same with tomatoes. Love tomato sauce, ketchup, even stewed tomatoes...but don't ask me to eat an actual tomato.

I highly dislike small groups of circles bunched together...think, for example, honeycomb. The sight of something like that gives me MAJOR heebie-jeebies.
ME TOO!!! Just reading this made me sick and picturing it almost made me barf! Hve you ever seen the comercials for Hershy air kisses?? I had to go to the bathroom and barf when i saw them. Do yourself a favor and if you havent seen it dont google.
I have seen it! I had to just close my eyes and pretend it wasn't happening. Just thinking about it has the hair on my arms standing straight up right now.

Re: Weird Quirks
Even if I'm going to do something within an hour, I have to write it in my planner.
I can touch the bottom of my chin with a tongue (The jury is still out on whether this is a skill, quirk, or just plain ole weird).
I like to eat one portion of my meal first. For example, I don't like to have a bite of a burger, then a bite of fries, bite of burger, etc. I like to finish the fries and then have the burger.
I like to eat burgers by first rolling up the bottom bun and eat it, then roll up the top bun and eat it, and then eat the meat. I don't do this in public though...it's too quirky.

I am a very textural person, especially when eating chicken and fish. If I get gristle or a bone, I'm done eating. I just totally lose my appetite.
Me too! Oh.. and egg shells..if someone isnt careful to pick them out.. ..

Re: Weird Quirks
Pickles disgust me. If I order something that I know comes with pickle on the side, I specifically request that it doesn't. If a pickle is on my plate and I'm with DH, he has to remove it from my plate and I will place a wad of napkins where the pickle was so that way it will cover the stench. Then, I will smell every bite of food to make sure there isn't any pickle juice on whatever I'm eating. Even the cook at the cafe in my office building knows not to give me pickles. Yesterday, someone else made my lunch and they put a pickle in the container and before he handed it to me, he checked for the pickle (it was there ) and removed it and any remnants of juice. Ugh makes me want to puke just thinking about it.
If I eat any type of food that comes on bread (burger, sandwich, wrap, etc.) I usually pull off the excess bread. I usually end up with piles of bread on my plate.
When I eat fries, I tend to eat everything but the end I'm holding. Not always but it happens a lot. No reason for it. My family teases me about it because my plate will have just french fry ends all over it.
I read in a book once when I was a kid that you should say "Rabbit Rabbit" on the first of each month and I've said it (in my head) every single month for at least 20 years.

Okay. Now that I know of two other people with this aversion, I googled...not too much came up, but apparently there is a name for people like us:
trypophobia. n. An unusually strong fear of, or aversion to, holes, particularly tiny holes that appear clustered together.
Makes me feel better that this isn't *too* odd, since well, at least there's a name for it! I did not click on any links, just copied and pasted from the google blurb...I was afraid that they would have images of clusters of holes

Yeah, I've got them.
I eat cereal dry, no milk.
I eat oatmeal cold, soaked in vanilla soymilk.
I don't like sandwiches cold, but I don't like them warm...just room temperature. Same with water.
The consistency of things like flan make me want to scream and run for the hills.
I highly dislike small groups of circles bunched together...think, for example, honeycomb. The sight of something like that gives me MAJOR heebie-jeebies.
I get clammy hands at the mere thought of alien abduction...blech, just typing that makes my heart race.
There's more, but I don't have all day LOL
Omg I have the honeycomb issue too!! I describe it to ppl as hating clusters!!! Lol creeps me out soo badly. I hate the feeling I get if I see beehives, barnacles on a dock etc strange but I hate it. I remember being young and seeing a crab with tons of eggs and it skeeved out me so badly

It's not an issue anymore because they are now all "white meat", but I used to have a love/hate relationship with Chicken McNuggets. If I bit into one and it was dark, it would spoil my appetite for the entire day.
This.

This x 100. Weird! i don't think I've ever met someone else who had this quirk, and now two in one day! ETA Oh man, I realized I totally missed that the conversation continued and there's even a name for us! Wow!

-If I make it through a yellow light, I kiss my hand and then touch the ceiling of my vehicle.
-I always have to look at myself for a few minutes in the mirror in the morning, before I get in the shower. I don't know why, but I have too.
-before I go to bed, I have to make sure I know where my keys are.
-I cringe when people touch me who aren't my super close friends or close family.

Re: Weird Quirks
I can't stand when people rub their feet with socks on the carpet. I get instant chills.
If someone scracthes their jeans with their nails.
I also hate the feeling of wool or scratchy blankets. My parents have a couch with this horrible fabric and I put a blanket over it b/c I can't sit on it.
I wont put DS in corduroy because I HATE the feeling of it. I get chills.
Typing this out made me realize how weird it sounds but I can't help it.

I am the same way with grapes and peaches!
I like grapes (green only though) and hate anything grape flavored (except Manischewitz lol). On the opposite side, I like peach flavored things like candy, iced tea but I don't like peaches.

-I wear my socks inside out because I detest the feeling of the seams on my toes.
-I only like fruit if it is overly ripe/almost bad.
-I don't like anyone touching me except my DH. I cringe when the manicurist tries to give me a massage and I have had a backache for months but I refuse to go to a chiropractor because I don't want to be touched.

Re: Weird Quirks
Oh I don't like buffets or pot lucks, unless I know the people or the food is packaged. I have a vivid imagination and don't trust people to cook my food. If my food isn't hot enough I'm immediately skeeved. I actually mix weird things. I like to dunk my PBJ in chicken noodle soup, and my grilled cheese in tomato. I also dunk toast in coffee, which dh thinks is the grossest. If something rubs on my teeth in a weird way (like a rubber glove or something) I get chills and want to vomit

I'm this way with cotton balls, the feel of the really dense ones. Ughh the thought sends chills down my spine. When I was younger my brother found out and threw them all over my bed.
If I get a bone in my fish it is gone! And it takes awhile for me to eat fish again
There are others that I cant think of at the moment.

Having the inside of my wrists touched completely freaks me out.
Me too!
I have a lot...
cannot eat food on a bone
cannot touch raw meat/poultry, I will eat it if someone else cooks it
cannot sleep without a fan going on my bed side table
I need my own blankets at night- sheets and all
I will never wear something more than once without it being washed
I hate ceiling fans, I feel like they dry out my eye balls

Now. This is a little anal in itself. But, I have gone one step further. I have re-written said list THREE times already (because of silly things like an eraser mark or accidentally checking off something that wasn't purchased). I just sat here typing out the whole list and had to re-print twice because I realized I left a colon off in two different spots. I have also put it into a new Manilla folder twice. The first time because the bottom got a little wet and had a water mark (reason number one that I had to re-write) and just today because it had random pen marks on it.
Weird.
I LOVE YOU! I do the same exact thing! I keep multiple to-do lists at all times, and I HAVE to rewrite them if they get too messy. I don't truly feel organized, even with my many lists, unless the list itself is neat and orderly. It actually makes me feel anxious, and then I feel calm and in control once I rewrote it.
(That sounds so neurotic now that I typed it out, lol)
I'm a neat freak and I'm compulsively picking up and organizing the kids' toys. Clutter gives me such anxiety. Nothing drives me crazier than if some small piece of a toy goes missing. I will move heaven and earth to find it. EVEN IF THE KIDS THEMSELVES DON'T CARE THAT IT'S MISSING!
I'm also a germophobe. Every week at Mass, right after the sign of peace (handshake) is given, I whip out Purell and sanitize my hands. I don't care what anyone thinks. I actually hate handshaking and try to avoid it in most situations.
I don't like potlucks AT ALL because I don't trust people's cooking and cleanliness.
I don't have too many food issues. Actually I can hardly think of anything at all. I don't really like mushy foods like bananas, applesauce, mashed butternut squash etc, but it's not to the point of gagging or anything.
Once, as a child, I bit into an UNDERCOOKED McNugget. It was all pink and moist inside. I could not eat them for years. However, we've reconciled and are now very close again
