Weirdo items you wanted badly as a child?
I saw my mom today, thus all these child-related posts, as we were talking about the weird stuff I did as a child. 
What weird items did you want as a kid?
For me, I was obsessed with getting a scale. Not a bathroom scale, mind you, but a giant one like you find in the doctor's office. I have no clue why I wanted this, but I did.

I dont know if anyone remembers these but I want the entire McDonalds meal sets. Yknow, the ones where you could recreate minature McDonalds meals and serve them? I never got them but it was weird that I wanted it

I wanted braces. I would take gum wrappers,put them on my teeth & pretend it was real.
I have the straightest teeth ever! But all my friends had them, so, ya know.
I also wanted Lemon Berbina ( sp?) perfume because Ma Ingles would flip out over it. Comes from watching too many episodes of Little House on the Praire.. does that sh%t even exist?

I think it is verbena? Bath & Body has a lime verbena.

I always wanted a canteen.
One time I took an old nail polish remover bottle that was empty and filled it with water and drank from it.
I immediately tasted nail polish remover and spit it out. Bad Idea I guess.
I am lucky I didn't poison myself playing with my canteen.

I don't remember a weird item that I wanted.
But, I remember that I was OBSESSED with the statue of liberty. I thought she was real. comes from those old dontate your coat commericals..give us your poor, your hungry..etc.
I wanted to be her when I grew up. I used to pose like her in pictures.

Me too! I also wanted a clarinet...luckily my mom knew better and I passed both of those instrument phases pretty quick. And my brother....well he's not too bad I guess
I also really wanted (and eventually got) a microscope set - thanks to all that wrapping paper I sold! I LOVED that thing! I thought I was some kind of mad scientist or something. Trying to look at everything under my 'scope

That's what I wanted as a kid, glasses! So random. Unfortunately, I got my wish granted in my adult life and now I HATE wearing glasses. 
ETA: I also wanted a horse. Not a pony, a big old horse. Still do!

I wanted glasses, too....now I have them and hate them. Loser 
I really wanted a piano/ piano lessons...meanwhile I am the least musical person and never practiced my flute so my mom was probably right to say no
I wanted a canopy bed and got one when we moved!
